A pause later, Daemon's answer came:
"Send her in."
"Understood."
*Knock* *Knock*
"Come in."
With Daemon's permission, Blandon came in, just a few seconds after hanging up the call with his superior. He carefully made his way inside, and stepped aside, letting the blonde who he called to announce earlier come in.
Cynthia's sharp presence intruded into the calm atmosphere of the office, but as she turned to Daemon on the other side of the desk, it melted away, like the snow meeting the indifference of the sun.
As Daemon looked at the woman, the only impression he got was one of a thorny rose, a rose as dark red as the color of her lipstick.
She seemed to have lost in the earlier competition, but she got herself back together, and walked forward, her heels sharply striking the ground, showing everything that would make a man desire to conquer her.
