"The elevator is coming up."
The voice that spoke was low, as it shattered the tense silence. In that same corner of not far from the elevator with a blinking light atop it, a deep voice came in through the earpieces, bringing instructions that replied to the report:
"Then send the command to stop it."
The operative who spoke first was crouched at the side, his full focus on the screen before him. He pressed one last time on the keyboard, then raised his head:
"Done. It will stop on this floor."
"Then we wait."
The order was delivered in a calm tone, but the breaths full of nervousness around unveiled the hidden undercurrents belied by the steadiness of the assault rifles pointed forward.
All points were covered, everything prepared to ensure no carelessness, no chance of things going wrong.
All the operatives were in black clothes, fully decked for battle, with their faces hidden, and their eyes covered.
