"Wife!" Karl called out loudly as they wandered through the city market, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Wife!" he said again, louder this time, catching sight of Ruby standing in front of a street food cart, looking far too focused on steamed buns and sugar-dusted bread.
"Ah, yes?" Ruby turned quickly, blinking as she snapped out of her food thoughts.
"I want to go to the washroom," Karl said, pouting dramatically and shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
Ruby's eyes softened with instant understanding. "Alright. Legs—find a hotel fast," she said seriously, her focus now shifting from tasty snacks to urgent business.
Julian, who had been quietly scanning the area, heard her words and turned his head toward Karl. A quiet smile appeared on his face, and he whispered softly, "Thank you, Brother Karl."
Karl gave him a small thumbs-up, still pouting, but proud nonetheless.
