Chapter 7 - A new decision

Dining Room

"Was just about to come drag you down, sleepy head," Angela, my mom said, typical her, we can't start eating if we're not complete.

"She deserves the sleep, Mom. Kate had a series of fun moments yesterday. You can't believe she got drunk.." Sandra couldn't finish her statement as I covered her mouth. Sandra is such a blabber mouth. I can't believe she's about to spill the embarrassing moment I had yesterday after swimming. Jeez, and she's the cause.

So yesterday, after having so much fun at the pool, we decided to cool off with drinks. Sandie suggested beers, a strong one at that. I reluctantly agreed with the excuse that we are at home after all. I won't dare do that outside, knowing my low tolerance for alcohol. I eventually got drunk and I gave all the couches and furniture in the living room a badass lap dances and twerks. I only remembered on my way downstairs. I guess she took me in yesterday night cause I was a goner.

"It's okay, babies. Let's eat or it gets cold." Jacob Carson, the dad of our beautiful home said. Did I tell you he's the CEO of Carson ventures Inc? No? Well, that's one of the biggest business conglomerates in Mexico. And mom, she's just a typical fashion lady who has fashion brands all over the city.

We finally start eating after Sandie said a funny short prayer. Lexie, as usual, was on his phone. He kinda looks a bit grumpy this morning. Maybe school stress, well I really don't wanna care. Staying out of his lane is what I am always after.

Sandra said something about career day in her school. Well, my sissy is still in high school. In her last grade though.

I looked up and …. Did Lexie just looked at me? Okay, it's an unintended glance.

"Why would you invite that old hag for a speech in Bryant high? Mom hissed annoyingly. The 'Old hag' is lady Lynch, her rival in the fashion world.

"Mom, you were given the invitation at first and you turned it down claiming you won't be chanced."

They kept arguing back and forth while my thoughts were slightly occupied with the man in my dreams.

My eyes unconsciously shifted to Lexie's again and I could swear that I caught him staring at me. Now this is weird and makes me feel uncomfortable.

LEXIE POV

"Silly you, will you focus?" I was having a battle in my head. I just couldn't get why I kept glancing at her direction. I should just get done with this meal and get out of here.

Dad said something and I think it's me he's talking to because they were all staring at me.

"Huh?" I answered absent-mindedly, looking at dad but again my gaze shifted to her. She licked her lips naively because some crumbs stuck to the side of her mouth. She did it several times and I feel my body being hot by that little action of hers. I shifted uncontrollably on my chair. This girl is definitely going to be the end of me.

"Lexie, are you alright? Mom asked this time.

"Yeah, of course." Should I just follow Dan's advice and get done with it? I looked at her again, scrutinizing her. We have been together for six or seven years and I had never taken my time to look at her. Her plump pink lips stuck to the cup perfectly. I suddenly imagined her sucking me with those lips. "Fuck! I lost it.

"Lex, are you sure you're okay? Talk to us! We're your family." Mom held my hands, worriedly. I really didn't mean to scream out loud. Thought I was doing it in my mind. I managed to smile a bit and left the dining room but not without casting a last glance at Kate who looked so nervous.

I need to just do something about this whole shit.

KATE POV

My palms became sweaty, I felt so nervous as my heart thumped in my chest. What's up with him? What's that look in his eyes? Is it just me or there's actually a different look in his eyes when he stared at me earlier.

"What could be up with him?" Sandra asked, chewing on the veggies softly.

"It's just some youthful stuff. He would come around. I know my son, it's nothing to worry about." Dad said, but I couldn't just help but get worried.

Greenville College

Tony jumped right in front of me and I jolted up in fear.

"Silly you. You wanna kill me." I rolled my eyes at him.

"This is new, Katerina Carson. You hardly get scared, moreover you're used to my style of saying hello." Tony sat beside me in our usual spot.

"I saw him very clearly, no obscurity, no blurry vision, not even a side of his face." Tony also knew about my dream man. We barely hide nothing from each other and Sandra gets jealous of that.

"Really? This is good news! It's worth celebrating. Is he handsome just as you have predicted?" I removed the painting from my backpack and handed it to him.

"Your annoying brother?"

"It's not Lexie. I'm confused as well. Because why would two different people look so much alike?"

"Come on, it's quite possible. Haven't you seen Michael and Mark? Can you make out who is who?" He brought out a walnut cake from his bag, shoving it into my mouth.

"Told you I don't like this!!" I gritted my teeth, trying to spit it out.

"But it's good for your eyes. You know how much I've restrained myself from hitting Maya and her crew when they call you those names because of your huge glasses."

"I appreciate the thoughts, but… okay, fine. Let's go straight to the point. This scenario here is completely different from Mark and Mike. And this is where you come in."

"Kay, don't tell me it's what I'm thinking. That would be so ridiculous."

"Please, Tony, try to understand. I know this looks ridiculous, but trust me, let's look up to his identity on the web. I'm sure he's somewhere lurking around the world. I was just so desperate to see him."

"Fine, let's meet here after Prof Yvonne's class." I hugged him excitedly. I could just sense that something good will come out of this.
