Zhou Tao slammed the bedroom door shut with a force and walked over to the desk, where he swept everything on it onto the floor.
The objects crashed to the ground in disarray, but the chaos did not make him feel any better. His phone rang again—it was still the doctor calling—but he no longer had the will to answer. With a flick, he sent his phone flying.
The phone hit the floor, bounced a few times, then fell silent after one last tumble.
Lin Zifan and Julie hurriedly ran up the stairs, one after the other, only to find Chu Xinning standing outside the door, her face ashen and her figure swaying, as if she would collapse any moment. They rushed to support her.
