"You look healthier now, little guy..."
A purr came from an orange cat as it nuzzled its head against Nami's feet the moment he opened the door to the place he now called home.
His everyday life was much more peaceful than he had ever imagined. Running away from his boyfriend's evil plan to sell him out had been worth it. The grueling process of healing took time, but he had been grateful most of the time. Could he really complain when he had a nice, peaceful life where he felt safe?
Ripping open the aluminum packaging of the wet cat food he had bought, the smell immediately caught the orange cat's nose, making it meow louder. The meowing subdued as soon as he placed the food bowl down and let the cat eat.
Nami stood up and stretched his back. His daily routine, whenever he was free, was quite relaxed. Usually, the sweet old grandma next door would invite him over for tea in the morning, always serving a fresh batch of yakgwa. He felt like he was gaining weight every time he ate.
Suddenly, a familiar ringtone echoed through the room. When Nami picked up his phone to check the caller ID, his expression darkened.
It was his dad.
Nami and his father didn't have a great relationship—but it wasn't entirely bad either. His dad was the kind of man who openly dismissed the idea of having an omega son. As an alpha himself, he saw Nami as a disgrace.
But only in front of their extended family.
At home, his father was nothing but a quiet man with a soft spot for his child.
Still, this time was different. Nami had run away without any warning, and his father was probably calling after finding out that he had left his old apartment.
"Hello...?"
As soon as Nami answered, his dad's voice blasted through the speaker.
"WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW?"
Nami winced, pulling the phone away from his ear. He could even hear his mother in the background, trying to calm his father down.
"Well, you know... so, there was this accident—"
"Where. Are. You. Or I will track your ass down and blow your brains out."
"U-um... B-Blue..."
"Blue District?"
"...Yeah."
Silence.
The silence from the other line was deafening. Nami could tell his father was processing the information.
"Share your location. I'll meet you on Friday."
He left no room for discussion and abruptly hung up, leaving Nami speechless.
"BUT THE SUPERMARKET'S 50% SALE IS ON FRIDAY!!"
