She made eye contact with Xavier, and instantly, her blood went cold.
Anastasia couldn't speak or breathe, she was as stiff as a mannequin as her breath caught up in her throat.
'What is he doing here? Did he hear everything I said?' She wondered as she continued to stare at him. He was unmoving, barely even blinking at her as they continued to stare at each other.
Xavier stared at Jennifer's blue eyes in confusion. She had hazel eyes, and now her eyes were blue.
Mr. Steven's grunt was the only sound that made them realize that they'd been staring at each other for too long.
"I forgot my wristwatch, and you didn't lock your door," he said as he waved the wristwatch in front of Anastasia. Then his gaze landed on Mr. Steven who was bleeding profusely. "I didn't know you could hit like that," he said.
From his tone, he didn't seem to have heard any word Anastasia had exchanged with Mr. Steven. Her shoulders dropped as she sighed in relief.
