Cherreads

Chapter 10 - X Marks The Spot.

Something about that boy sitting next to him, makes me want to rip him apart and delight at his insides BUT everything with its own pace. I can control myself. I know it. Like that big sack of meat. I only stopped at poisoning him. I can do it. I can do it.

Those beautiful thoughts of yours never fail to keep me alive.

My pleasure...!

"..."

"So crazy right?"

The only crazy thing should be how they managed to write it like this, it's as if they were using a pen.

Park was finally able to read the guarded piece of text, "...I did it and I'm sorry, please forgive, with love, Ripha."

"One can give them points for the drama. But besides that, with the way... spready, this stuff is, how did they write it so well like this?"

"You're not mad?"

"Not really, I mean I pulled through right?" More like something pulled me through, but same thing.

"Right..., you made it through THEIR poison..."

[Suspicion has been detected.]

That's a given. Isn't something supposed to happen in these cases...

"Uh, Park?"

Excellent timing guys.

The hall was pin drop silent. The rest of the students looked on as the most unruly group who were now at the most lonely table struck up a conversation with the two.

"Scoot, Scoot, Superstar!"

The black-clawed hand signaled him to make some room for entry. Durhma sat next to Gionne, something about him drawing him in, like a flame does to a moth.

But a certain someone didn't like all this attention. Gionne could feel the gem on his chest slightly rumble simultaneously feeling all this sudden wash of emotions over him.

"Hi, my name's Blackhand...," it was rising from within that swamp on Park's plate, its presently compacting form, bits and pieces of his meal. The invisible force helped to mold it all into a full arm. The hand came last, opening up in greeting, "... It's a pleasure to MEAT you."

A piece of meat floated to the surface, pushing some of the green gunk aside.

Park sighed inwardly although still amazed by Blackhand's ability.

"Pleasure's all mine."

"Hahaha! This one's fun!"

Something happened to his meal as soon as the hold over it was gone, "Ah right, I forgot to feed them this morning, I hope you were done with your food."

I didn't even eat...

Blackhand's creation crumbled, all that green instantly turned rock brown, wasting away as if it were rotting. It collapsed onto itself, revealing a shimmer from within,

[An existence in similar nature to the ----- Print has been detected]

?

Three lights from within, revealed themselves as they consumed the last floating bits of Park's supper into themselves. They fleetingly danced into the beckoning hand of their owner, merging into him and going up his hand leaving a trail of white along his veins.

His food was gone.

"What was that?"

"My Rot Stars, Beautiful, aren't they?"

Greedy maybe, hold up...

"When did you slip them in...?"

"Shh! This is my favorite part, look!"

"What are you talking about?"

It was Gionne's turn now on the hot seat, Park had had his own unique share of experience with Blackhand, the baton had to be passed on.

"... This one has beautiful hair," the grimy hands ruffled through that white field, disheveling everything in it, he clearly didn't like it as he had to remove the intruder's arm, letting it down slowly, undisturbed, the stylist from hell continued, "what was your name again?"

"Gionne...," he tried to correct his current odd hairstyle to what it was before, but the grime seems to have done more harm than he had realized.

"So, where does 'white as snow' come from?"

"..."

"This is where you laugh guys!"

The entire hall burst out into forced laughter, just genuine enough to balloon his ego back to full health.

"That's a good one!" one added, unknowingly saving all who were present from his wrath.

"Phewks! I almost thought it didn't..."

Nothing would have been worse like a bully who you didn't see coming, clearly showcasing that his mobility arts were heavily pre trained before even enrolling into the institute, a blink was all it took for him to move from his table to an unsuspecting duo on the very other end of the mess hall. His immediate presence heavily disrupted their hushed conversation, transforming it into a series of heaving and mumbled words. Judging by the looks on their faces, whatever they were engaged in, they surely knew better than to do so.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't just help it. You were talking about something memorable, and I just saw it fit for me to chime in given it's my life story," he tightly clamped his palms onto the duo's shoulders, "and also because you may have gotten some parts of it," he fixed his face between the two, clamping even harder, "wrong."

" And if you're saying, 'he heard us!' in those little heads of yours then you're in for a surprise, because there's a lot more than that in store for you! "

"And therefore, I'll be very happy to tell you in precise detail, heck! I could even do it right now!"

It was an order, Blackhand and the other got onto their feet, but before Blackhand went, he dumped his slop onto Park's plate,

"I just remembered that you may not have actually got a fill of today's meal, so dig in! And it was a mighty pleasure meeting the both of you, you the most!"

"Likewise! But my white-haired friend here instead, oh! and my name is Grey Eye, forgot about the whole courtesy thing, silly me, right?!"

"Right..."

"See you later," Grey Eye messed with Gionne's hair one final time before rushing over to Durhma who was already past the doors now. No sooner were three out than Blackhand came peeking back in, "DURHMA SAYS IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU TOO! AND, UH... YEAH! THAT'S IT! SEE YAH!" He waved, ducking his head back into the darkness. Out of sight now, everyone in the room heaved a sigh of relief, the oppressive force drowning them was gone.

"Can't believe the sty is now friends with one of the most powerful groups in this school."

I'm right here...

Ring! Ring! Ring!

"Looks like the three of them already knew each other before they got into this school."

"They did? How did you know?"

"Those two who got dragged... by the way aren't you going to...,"

"Food in the traaash!"

A pair of sickly green, purple-spotted hands erupted from beyond their table. The jagged nails peeled off the wood as it dragged all the plates, their friends' too, included.

"... Whoever built this school, he must have been on something."

"And also, I think we need to start leaving," Gionne said, pointing to a piece of paper plastered onto a nearby wall, they both nodded, joining the number of students exiting the building. The remaining staff opened the windows, turned off the lights and shut the doors calling it a night, the aforementioned activity happening in the embrace of the dark.

"..."

"Second day down! And here comes..."

He opened the window, letting in a rush of wind.

"... my...! Oh my...," the little fresh drops on his face immediately replaced his earlier cheery attitude with worry. He went to wipe it off with his sleeve, "Don't do that, you remember how hard it was to remove the previous stains last time."

"Right, I keep on forgetting."

They disappeared right after as though they were never there.

"!"

The guest withdrew his wings back in.

"I almost you were injured back there."

"... So that's the progress I've had so far," the guest stood patiently as the individual stared into space.

"You have much better control at it now, this is wonderful..."

It looks like he'll be at it for a while now and I'm a little bit fatigued.

He walked over to a conveniently placed arrangement behind him, as he sunk into the soft cushions, he picked up the folded piece of paper firmly resting on the chair's left armrest,

"You're welcome," it said.
