Chapter 18 - 18. no idea

"Damnit!" Phoebe stormed into the mansion very angry. He had insulted her presence.

How dare he do that to her?

"Phoenix! I hate you. I hate you."

Phoebe left the ball very angry and had forgotten to inform her mum, who was still there. She had expected Perry to return to her, but he had gone another way. Probably Anna had whispered something to him about Phoenix. She had gone downstairs after spotting him with his grandfather and had intended to make her presence known to him.

"Hello, Mr Worcestershire," she greeted with courtesy.

"Phoebe, how are you dear," the old man kindly responded.

"Please excuse me, " Perry walked away knowing exactly that she was there because of him.

Old man Worcestershire saw the hurt in her eyes. What was going on?

"Phoebe, walk with me," he had to do something to take her mind off his grandson at the moment.

"What the heck is she? Phoenix, you're gonna pay for this insult." She cursed at her sister. All the workers had stopped their work and were beside her about to console her. They all returned to what they were doing after hearing her curse at her sister.

The workers all could breathe normally after she had descended to her room. What was wrong with her? They all thought.

"What?" You left her stranded." Jude yelled at his friend. He was aware that the lady had something for him and he had not. But leaving her at the ball, that wasn't Perry.

"Dude, you didn't try at her." He rebuked his friend.

Perry sat in his chair as if configuring what to do next. He had broken her heart and had to apologize to her one way or the other.

"And why are you even here?" Jude didn't get why he was in the office.

"You should be out there buying roses to apologize to her."

"I have work to do,"

"You can do that later. " Jude tried to get him out of the office. It seemed his efforts were going to be in vain.

"I have a lot to do, okay? I'll do that after this," he informed his friend who was still in front of his desk and had not sat down yet.

"Dude, don't just stand there." Jude wasn't ready to take a seat.

"C'mon, men, don't do this. You have to apologize. I need to go. I have an unfinished business to do." He said and left Perry to his misery.

After Anna was out of sight, Perry was contemplating where to go next. He had no interest in the young lady who was waiting for him on the other side of the corridor. Luckily for him, he received a call from his grandpa that he should come down. He, too, took the path where Anna had gone and went down.

Grandpa Worcestershire introduced him to some of his friends who were still in the business world. They were old but still vibrant and energetic. Some even recommended he take a look at their side of the world. Perry had no choice but to agree. He knew the business world wasn't a small thing to mess with, and so many of his grandpa's friends inviting him to their companies told him something. They wanted to collaborate. At the moment now, he wasn't ready to go into another bond, except with FACE of course.

When his grandpa's friends left them, he saw Phoebe coming in their direction. Maybe she was going to greet Grandpa.

"Hello, Mr Worcestershire," she greeted directing it to the old man.

"Phoebe, how are you dear?" The old man was very familiar with Phoebe and had grown very fond of her. He hadn't had the chance to meet her other twin since she didn't like to get along well. He had met her only once, and even then, she was forced to meet him. It was easy to identify both of them the moment he saw Phoenix as well; she was rough, but deep down, there was a kind somebody in there.

"Please excuse me," he found his grandson walking away, not because of thought. The young lady looked sad.

Was there something going on between his grandson and her that he had no idea of?

That was it. And Perry had left her, he did not return. He had put on a short-sleeved shirt and had moved to the carpet on the floor. He surely had some work to do. He sought to do that.

"Good day," John abruptly got out of his chair. The CEO of FACE. What was doing right in front of him?

Phoenix took the face mask off her face. She had worn it to prevent the employees from causing commotion if they had realised it was her.

"Sorry to have scared you," she apologized to the latter who was still surprised to see her at Stylish.

"Is he there?" She asked pointing to Perry's office.

"Yes, should I inform him that you're here,"

"No, it's okay."

"He would fire me if he gets to know that I didn't treat you to nothing before coming inside," John sounded worried. Perry would cut off his head if he didn't give her something to eat or drink.

"I'm okay, John. I came to talk about the contract. It's alright. No need to worry, I'll try and speak to him "Phoenix assured him.

"Hi," Perry heard the same voice he heard yesterday when he had gone to meet Phoebe. He had heard a knock on his door, but he didn't respond because he knew it was John. But not so.

Not again.

Wait, this one sounds worried.

He slowly turned from his paperwork to look at the owner of the voice. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her. She was in a grey suit, and it fit her perfectly, just like yesterday...

He then realised today's person is different from yesterday's. She had a file in her hand. Perry stood up to prevent any awkwardness.

"I thought you would be in bed by now," a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. The floor was scattered with papers. It seemed he was doing some sketches.

"You should be resting as well," he too told her.

"Sorry about the mess here," he cleared his throat.

"I had no idea you'd be coming here," he admitted. He moved from his chair to meet her.
