Krogor bellowed, sending waves of civilians running in fright through the crowded market. Some bolder humans took out recording devices and began streaming events as they unfolded. A few, more panicked individuals crashed into stalls as they ran, spilling various wares onto the street. Imported fruits from Esualipone, exotic jewelry from Zelion, cool gadgets from Haki-Qin, and various other merchandise was then trampled underfoot as civilians fled from him.
He was currently partially transformed, in a form akin to that of a weredragon (although much more garishly colored). He surged forward, claws tearing through human flesh like knives through cotton candy, tail smashing into stalls and crushing them like aluminum foil.
Krogor relished the screams of the humans. He didn't bother checking to see if those he attacked once had died, only pressing forward as he wreaked destruction like a bladed bulldozer. Men screamed, women cried, children wept.
Smirking as he caught sight of an elderly man who'd been trampled under the feet of those who were younger and faster than he, Krogor deftly jumped over him as he rampaged onward. It wasn't out of any sort of courtesy -- no, he merely thought it would be far more fitting for a human to die slowly because of the actions of his own kind rather than ending the older man's misery early.
He glanced behind, catching sight of a bold teenage woman who was filming him. His eyes narrowed, then he grinned widely and said, "Well, if she wants a show, why not give her one?"
With a swift leap, he surged towards the girl, stopping abruptly in front of her. He snorted, coating the camera's lens with fog from the heat of his breath.
Then he stepped forward, gently grasping the girl's shoulders with his four-fingered, clawed hands. He leaned over her camera and, in a menacing, incredibly deep and soft voice, spoke directly into her ear.
"Human girl, are you streaming?"
"N-n-no," she stammered, eyes leaking fright-filled tears.
"Tsk, tsk, that won't do!" He purred. Shifting one of his hands so that the clawed thumb was pressed against her throat, he threatened, "Start streaming, or die now."
"U-understood!" She said. Shaking violently, she adjusted some settings, then began to stream.
"Wonderfully done, my dear," Krogor cooed. He released her and, with a swift motion, distanced himself from her.
He spun dramatically within the camera's view, transforming as he did so into a truck-sized, bulky, furry dragon with blindingly bold colored stripes, long ears, sharp tusks and a christmas-tree-shaped club at the end of his tail. His stripes were pumpkin orange, cerulean blue, faded forest green, and dandelion yellow, with purple hands and feet. His underside was protected by a series of overlapping, charcoal gray scales. The membranes of his wings faded from a bright, scarlet-pink by the orange wing-arms to dark, cerulean blue at the edges. His tail club was the same scarlet-pink as was on his wings.[1]
"HEAR ME, VILE HUMANS!!" Krogor roared, his voice causing objects nearby to tremble because of the sheer volume. It was a sound that a creature of his size should not have been able to produce. Within a distance as much as a kilometer away, his voice burst the eardrums of anyone listening.
The young woman he had threatened into streaming him dropped her recording device and clutched at her bleeding ears, screaming but unable to hear her own voice. The camera fell, pointing upwards so it caught only the lopsided view of nearby buildings. Yet it was still able to record what Krogor said next.
"HEAR MY VOICE AND TREMBLE IN FEAR! I AM KROGOR THE UNSHACKLED, I AM VENGEANCE AGAINST YOUR TYRANNY!! HEAR MY NAME AND COWER LIKE THE FILTHY RATS YOU ARE!!"
After finishing his self-introduction, Krogor started running around on all fours, chasing humans like a cat pouncing on a laser pointer's light. With every step he took, he grew larger. It wasn't long before a massive, kaiju-sized dragon was smashing buildings and causing earthquakes with each size-defying leap.
Sci-fi themed fighter jets soon began to shoot streams of light and heavy weaponry at the beast, but it was all for naught. Not a single hair on his body was so much as singed. The intense, all-out attack of the Human Alliance Emergency Defense Force, even with all their advanced technology, could do nothing against this logic-shattering Chaos Dragon.
Krogor paused his rampage and smirked at the airships, basking in their despair. By this time, he was larger than a whole city, and each building was no larger than an ant to him. The ground beneath his feet had long since buckled. Now, everywhere he had trodden looked like the craters of meteor impacts, except in the shape of foot- and handprints. It was a glorious horizon filled with destruction.
"Did you think I would let you off with just this??" He bellowed, the words many times louder than before despite having projected his voice less forcefully. "I am not so merciful!! This is just the beginning!!"
Krogor kept his word. As he continued to grow at a steadily increasing rate, his sheer size began to exert a gravity of its own, causing stray objects on the planet's surface to hover between the two opposing gravitational forces. Oceans surged beyond their boundaries, reaching higher tides than ever recorded in history, flooding cities and drowning millions. The equilibrium of hover cars' floating devices were upset, causing massive waves of car crashes worldwide. Buildings closest to Krogor leaned towards him ominously. Even the planet's atmosphere began to stick to him. Before long, various pieces of civilization lodged themselves between the hairs of Krogor's arms, legs and tail -- debris composed of people (both alive and dead), hover cars, broken buildings, uprooted trees, and innumerable other, smaller items. He was moving too quickly for anything to stick to him under gravity's force alone.
Before he could grow large enough to cause the planet itself to buckle under the competing gravitational forces, Krogor ceased growing any further.
Instead, he stopped, smiled knowingly, and suddenly shrunk down to the size of a truck again.
This action was itself catastrophic. Since he'd grown to about a fifteenth of the size of the planet, the vacuum created by his sudden size change was not by any means negligible. Wind surged as air rushed to replace the space he'd taken up. The air currents were so strong that the miscellaneous things which had clung to him were carried along with them before the planet's gravity started to reclaim them; this was, in effect, rather similar to what happened when a tornado whisked up entire buildings and flung them around. The biggest difference was that some of the debris was flung with such force that it left the planet's atmosphere and began to go into orbit. This included hundreds of human corpses, which burnt to a crisp then froze due to combustion via friction with air, followed by exposure to the near-absolute-zero temperatures of space.
Krogor watched the debris rise and fall, burning as it traveled through the planet's atmosphere. Most of the debris had not entirely escaped the planet's gravity and were therefore raining down like artificial meteors. Due to the sheer quantity of fiery streaks in the sky, it looked like a gigantic firework had gone off. With a wicked grin, he whispered. "Ah, what a pleasant sight."
Once everything that was going to hit the ground had done so, Krogor wondered what he should do next. Should he finish the job now? Or wait an hour to give the humans false hope?
[1] I just found this feature; usually I try posting links to art of my characters in comments, so let's hope it works here.
I don't have a specific illustration of this scene but I do have his design sheet. His colors are rather complicated so I had a hard time describing him with words XD
