Cherreads

Chapter 47 - Act 44 - Love Letter

It was a normal spring morning—birds chirping, cherry blossoms floating in the air—and yet Gojo found himself caught in another disaster he didn't understand.

Suma slammed a folded paper down on the lunch table. "Explain this, Gojo-kun."

Hiyori leaned forward, smirking. "Secret admirer, huh? Who knew you had fans with such… poetic handwriting."

Gojo blinked. "What is that?"

"'The way you annoy me is… electrifying.'" Mizuki read dramatically from another note, holding it like a piece of forbidden treasure. "'I hate your stupid smirk and your dumb hair, but I can't stop staring when you're shirtless during training.'" Her lips curled. "Sounds like someone's fighting their feelings."

Gojo turned red. "Wha—?! I didn't write that!"

Raika, seated nearby and sipping tea, nearly spat it all over her lap. Her hand sparked slightly. "I-I mean, who would write such a dumb letter? B-baka!"

Suma tapped her chin. "Could it be… he wrote it to himself?"

Gojo slammed his chopsticks down. "What kind of narcissist do you think I am?!"

"High-level," Hiyori said. "You do check yourself out in the window reflection every time you walk past it."

"That's just to make sure I don't have food on my face!"

"Uh-huh."

Gojo rubbed his temples as the girls launched into a heated debate over who the mysterious letter-writer could be. Mizuki suspected one of the fangirls from the spirit club. Suma theorized it was a foreign princess under disguise. Hiyori swore it was their overly friendly homeroom teacher.

Meanwhile, Raika's face was turning a deep crimson. Under the table, she was gripping her skirt, electricity crackling faintly from her fingers.

I knew I should've burned them…!

---

Later that day…

In literature class, Gojo fished something strange from his locker. Another letter. Same clumsy cursive. Same thunder-themed metaphors.

Unable to resist, he opened it. "Your smirk makes me want to punch a cloud. I only dream about you when I eat sugar late at night. Why are you so infuriatingly charming?!"

Gojo snorted. "What is this, tsundere poetry?"

He turned to the class and read it aloud in his usual over-the-top dramatic voice. "'The lightning in my heart is annoying and loud, like YOU!'" He posed with a hand to his chest. "Whoever wrote this, marry me already!"

Half the class burst into laughter. The other half started whispering wildly.

From her seat, Raika froze like a deer caught in a thunderstorm. Her twin tails twitched. Her eyes narrowed into blazing electric slits.

"You… idiot…" she hissed.

A faint bzzt crackled across the air.

Gojo turned. "Huh?"

ZAAAAAAP!!!

Blue lightning engulfed them both. Not deadly—but definitely dramatic.

When the smoke cleared, Gojo and Raika were collapsed on the floor, singed and twitching slightly.

The nurse sighed. "Infirmary. Again."

Infirmary Room – Later

Gojo lay on the futon, half-conscious, hair standing up like an electrified hedgehog.

"Why… does this keep happening to me…" he muttered.

Next to him, Raika sat stiffly in a second bed, cheeks puffed out, arms crossed.

"You shouldn't read people's letters out loud, b-baka."

"So it was you!"

"Shut up!" bzzt

He twitched again.

Raika clutched the bedsheet. "You weren't supposed to read them at all… I was trying to throw them out."

Gojo blinked, then softened. "Hey. You could've just told me you liked me, you know."

"I DON'T LIKE YOU!!" she shouted. Sparks flew from her pigtails.

He raised an eyebrow. "Your letters literally say otherwise."

She buried her face in the blanket. "I was possessed by thunder…!"

Gojo chuckled. "Well, Thunder Girl, I'm flattered. They were kinda cute, actually."

Raika peeked up. "…R-really?"

"Yeah. I liked the cloud punching metaphor."

"D-don't say that out loud!!"

The door burst open. Suma, Hiyori, Mizuki, and even Hikami piled in like curious cats.

Hiyori pointed. "Aha! You did zap him out of love!"

Suma pulled up a chair. "So, Raika-chan… when's the wedding?"

Raika wailed and hid under the blanket completely, emitting tiny sparks as Gojo groaned, covering his face.

---

Later, under the sakura trees…

Gojo sat alone on the school roof, gazing up at the clouds. Despite the zaps and chaos, something about Raika's flustered behavior stuck with him.

Guess even thunder has a soft side.

Just then, a bento box thunked beside him.

Raika stood there, flushed but proud.

"…Eat it before I change my mind."

He smiled. "Thanks, Thunder Girl."

"D-don't call me that!" bzzt

Another spark. Another laugh.

And somewhere deep inside, a certain tsundere noble girl wondered just how many letters it would take… before she could say it aloud.
