In the middle of the night, Meng Xiangzi's uncle, Hua Yongbing, and his family were deeply asleep.
An unexpected, forceful knocking at the door woke everyone abruptly.
Hua Yongbing's wife hurried to the door to open it.
"Yongfang is here! She's crying so hard! It seems like she has something urgent to discuss with you, you better go to the study!"
Hua Yongbing was woken by his wife, put on his glasses, draped a garment around himself, and entered the study.
Meng's mother stood beside the desk, her eyes red and swollen from crying, rendering him baffled.
"Yongfang! What has happened to you? Did you have a fight with Old Meng?" said Hua Yongbing as he yawned.
He had worked late into the night, and having just fallen into a deep sleep, being dragged out of his warm bed made him very tired.
