In order to quickly unearth military talents and effectively boost morale, the Mexican army implements a "promotion system." This means, if you are a rookie, but after several months of training, you believe your tactics and individual combat skills are sufficient, you can apply for a promotion in rank. Each person has only one chance per year, and it's held collectively.
Internal competition, chasing each other.
As a result, these rank competitions are often fiercely competitive.
Rank is tied to benefits and welfare. Imagine, if you don't pass, it takes a year to go from rookie to Private First Class, another year to Corporal, three years to Sergeant. Just the duration alone makes many lose their motivation.
Amidst such competition, a large number of extremely talented individuals with strong military skills have emerged.
