Chapter 8 - The First Child

I woke up in an unfamiliar place, a room filled with bright yellow colors. The only thing that stood out was the dark oak tables and chairs, which confirmed that I was in a dining room area. A stage sat in front of me, containing two animatronic characters. One of them was a yellow bear that wore a purple bow tie and a purple top hat to match. The other one also had a purple bow tie but no top hat. The difference was that the yellow bear was fat while the yellow rabbit was slim in design. Now that I've noticed, they both had darkish-yellow bottoms. I stood up, slightly feeling dizzy, but managed to stay put. I looked around my surroundings before making my way to the stage. The place felt familiar, like I'd been here before, but I couldn't remember when or why. As I approached the animatronics performing on the stage, my arm hairs stood straight, and goosebumps formed on my arms. For some reason, getting closer to the animatronics made me feel afraid of them. The animatronics seemed to have a menacing presence, particularly the yellow bear, which opened and closed its mouth.

"Do you remember who they are?" Golden Freddy interrupted my inspection of the animatronics. His sudden presence startled me, making me turn instantly to where he sat. Golden Freddy was on top of a dark oak table next to me.

"U-uh," I said, looking back at the golden bear. "So... that must be Fredbear, right?" I pointed at the yellow bear in front of me.

"C-correct," Golden Freddy replied. "Does he feel familiar to you?"

"I don't know," I said, looking at Fredbear. Suddenly, I was teleported to the corner of a room. I was in front of a dark oak table that had a cassette player and an old-fashioned TV before me.

"You have the T-tape, correct?" Golden Freddy asked. Golden Freddy sat next to me; his white eyes were fixated on me. I searched my vest pockets until I felt the rectangular tape in my hands and pulled it out. The tape was labeled with "Snooper" in red letters on white paper taped to it.

"Is this the one?" I replied. I flipped the tape counter-clockwise, aiming it towards Golden Freddy for it to read.

"Insert the tape into the player," Golden Freddy commanded. His white eyes watched me as I obeyed and inserted the tape inside the player. The player whirred and churned until it made the old-fashioned TV turn bright blue and start playing the video feed. That's when the screen suddenly turned white, and I was sucked into the TV...

Cassidy sat on one of the party tables, watching the kids jump around and play as the animatronic rabbit and bear performed. "This is so boring," Cassidy thought. Cassidy rested her head on her hand. The bright, colorful lights irritated her as they swung around the room occasionally. The band's loud rendition of popular music wasn't helping either. The fact that Cassidy had to host her party at one of the world's noisiest and messiest locations didn't sit well with her. The parents were too busy admiring how the animal robots could be lifelike to calm their children or pay attention, for that matter. They acted as if Fredbear's was a daycare center. That's part of the reason Cassidy disliked coming here.

Cassidy got up from her chair and made her way toward the restrooms. As she approached the doorway, she bumped into a boy. The boy wore a black shirt with two grey stripes, light blue shorts, and mesmerizing blue eyes. His eyes were red, probably from crying. Cassidy noticed that he appeared to have scars from tears.

"Sorry, excuse me," The boy said politely. He brushed past her, disappearing into the giant crowd of people. Cassidy stood there, wishing she could've said something, but didn't. Cassidy carried on doing her business, freshening up in the bathroom. Afterward, she came out of the bathroom and made her way back to her table. As she navigated through the giant crowd of people, Cassidy once again spotted the boy she had bumped into earlier, sitting near the stage where the animatronics performed. Sitting next to him were four boys who appeared to be his brothers. Each of them wore the new Freddy's masks that recently came out. She changed her course and headed to the boy's table instead. This time, she'll speak to him. However, a yellow rabbit stopped her.

"Hello there, little girl!" the yellow rabbit said. You could tell that someone was inside the suit. Cassidy looked at the stage and then at the yellow bunny before her.

"How did you?" Cassidy asked.

"Oh, I'm a special type of bunny! I'm the one who gives out cake and candies!" the yellow rabbit said. Cassidy gave an unconvinced look. She was skeptical about the yellow bunny wandering around, but after all, he was holding a cake. The only thing that confused her was that the other yellow rabbit had green eyes, and this one had purple eyes.

"Say, I have a puppy over there in that room," the yellow rabbit said, pointing at the metal door that read 'employees only.' "If you come with me, I'll give it to you for free!" Cassidy thought about it for a minute.

"How do I know you're not lying?" Cassidy inquired, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms.

The yellow rabbit paused for a moment before speaking.

"I have a strict bunny code to follow," said the yellow rabbit.

"Bunny code?" Cassidy said curiously.

"It's a set of rules that I have to follow; one of them is never to lie to children," the yellow rabbit said. "I promise you, if you come with me, you'll get a free puppy!" the yellow rabbit said. Cassidy thought about it for a moment. It was amusing that the sentence rhymed.

"I'll come with you," Cassidy agreed.

"Perfect! Let's sing the 'Follow Me' song!" The yellow rabbit uttered these words, skipping towards the employee-only room. Cassidy followed the rabbit. "🎶Follow me! Follow me! Follow me! Then you'll see!🎶" the rabbit sang. The song was rather improvised and out of tune, but Cassidy would do anything for a cute, cuddly puppy. If someone promised her something, surely she would accept it? After all, the yellow rabbit did have a strict bunny code. After going through the big crowds of kids and past the adults, Cassidy and the yellow rabbit eventually reached the employees-only door.

"Are you ready?" the yellow rabbit asked. Cassidy nodded her head, and the yellow rabbit opened the door and motioned for her to go inside. Cassidy took one last look outside before stepping inside the room. The room was dark, and the music went from loud to muffled when the yellow rabbit closed the metal door. Cassidy could barely see what was going on inside until the yellow rabbit turned on a light, illuminating the room. The sight of Fredbear's spare parts and metal figures on the metal table slightly shocked Cassidy.

"It's okay," the yellow rabbit said. "These are my friends!" Cassidy was unsure whether or not she should've trusted the yellow rabbit; the rabbit was still a little suspicious.

"Can I have my dog now?" Cassidy asked. She wanted to retrieve her dog and leave as soon as possible.

"Let's be patient now!" the yellow rabbit said. The yellow rabbit came closer to Cassidy. "If you cover your eyes and count to three, your puppy will be right in front of you!" the yellow rabbit said convincingly. Cassidy smiled and covered her eyes with her hands.

"Now count to three!" the yellow rabbit said. Cassidy heard a faint metal scrape, but she ignored it. Maybe it was the cage the puppy was in!

"One! Two! Three—." Cassidy felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, a pain that made her instantly fall to her knees. Cassidy opened her eyes to see the yellow rabbit holding a knife that was now in her stomach. Cassidy looked down and saw the area around the knife starting to soak her yellow shirt with blood. The yellow rabbit took out the knife and stabbed her shoulder. Cassidy screamed, hoping someone would discover her murder in the room, but the music was excessively loud, likely intentional.

"Shut up, you little brat!" the yellow rabbit hissed. Cassidy looked into the yellow rabbit's purple eyes with tears running down her face. The yellow rabbit then took out the knife and stabbed her lungs, making Cassidy stop screaming and making it harder to breathe as blood filled her lungs. The yellow rabbit dislodged his knife and quickly bashed it into her head, killing her instantly. As Cassidy bled out on the blood-stained floor, the last thing she felt was coldness. The loud music turned from muffled to silent, yet she could still hear the yellow rabbit's deep laughter. Pain. Coldness. Anger. Sadness. Betrayal. Liar. These were the final thoughts she pondered before succumbing to a profound slumber, fully aware that she would never awaken again. Cassidy looked at the yellow rabbit with her eyes as they slowly lost their color until she went limp and lifeless.

I inhaled deeply when I snapped out of my frozen state. I looked around quickly to see that I was in the same place I had been earlier. It felt like I was revisiting a memory, but it was too vivid. It felt like it was a dream. I sat down on one of the dark oak chairs and placed my palm on my forehead. I stabilized my breathing and calmed myself down.

"It wasn't a dream," Golden Freddy said. His voice scared me a bit, but with recognition, it calmed me. I turned my attention to the sound of his voice. I expected to see Golden Freddy's natural appearance, but instead, a little girl was in front of me.

"Who are you?" I asked, startled by the sudden appearance of the girl.

"I am Golden Freddy," the little girl said. Now that I think about it, she looked the same as the girl I saw in my 'dream.'

"Wait, you're Golden Freddy? I thought you were a boy." I said, confused.

"Most people think that when they hear my distorted voice, but really, I'm a girl," Golden Freddy replied. I looked at her with curiosity.

"What did I just experience if it wasn't a dream?" I asked.

"That t-tape contained a memory; it was the only way t-that I could show you. It showed what happened to me, how I felt during that time, and my thoughts."

"So, are there more? Why are they hidden?" I asked.

"Yes, but I've hidden them in places where the purple guy wouldn't find them," Golden Freddy said.

"Are they all specifically your memories?" I inquired.

"No, they contain other memories such as yours," Golden Freddy replied.

"Wait, so I can revisit my memories?" I asked.

"You've always wondered where you originated from. I can show you, but you have to trust me," Cassidy replied. I sat there and stared blankly at the wooden wall in front of me.

"Why do you appear as Golden Freddy?" I asked. Golden Freddy didn't speak for a moment.

"It is because I was stuffed inside a Fredbear suit, but it was different from the rest, probably a prototype," Golden Freddy replied.

"My next question: Are you Cassidy?" I asked with hopefulness. I stood up from where I sat and turned to look at the little girl directly in front of me. Golden Freddy stood there speechless for a moment.

"Yes," Cassidy said. Cassidy looked at me with her bluish-hazel eyes.

"You want to know who you are, don't you?" Cassidy said. I got lightheaded, and the room began to spin again

"Wait! Before you go, can you explain how you're teleporting me here?" I asked. I randomly contracted a headache, and my stomach was tensing up. Cassidy quickly returned to her Golden Freddy state.

"I don't know," Cassidy said. I felt a sense of unease as Cassidy spoke. I looked at Cassidy's Golden Freddy state and saw her staring at me with her white eyes. "We'll meet again, Mike," Cassidy said before I completely blacked out.
