I finally made it to my dorm, and I have to say — Amit was surely an idiot for getting himself suspended.
His dorm is about the size of an average apartment back on Earth, with the normal facilities: bathroom, kitchen, bedroom — and the best thing? It's all free!
If it were me, I would have never dared to do anything that could get me kicked out of here.
I didn't have much luggage on me except for the two books I now held, and I immediately threw them on the bed and went to shower.
The feeling of water on my skin refreshed me in a way a healing spell never could. Which, now that I think about it, I really need a healing spell or some sort of regeneration skill.
After my quick shower, I sat on the bed and excitedly inspected my status.

[QUEST REWARDS AVAILABLE!!]
Aether Weaving had gone up two levels, and Draconic Senses was up by one.
But the thing I was really excited for was flashing at the bottom of my status.
I didn't really know how to claim the rewards…
[Quest Completed!] Kill as many Zelk invaders as you can!
Zelk: 55 / 100
Zelk Captain: 1 / 1
Penalty: Game Over
[Reward: [Fast Learner] / [Runic Magic]]
→ The skill [Fast Learner] has been acquired!→ The skill [Runic Magic] has been acquired!
Information about Runic Magic flowed into my mind — not painfully, more like a crash course that had already been stored and was just coming back to me.
I already had a bunch of interesting ideas I could toy with once I got better at it. Nothing super useful right now… except for magic bombs.
But if I level it up enough, I think I can modify my body and engrave spells onto myself — things like flight and reinforcement — and I'll no longer have to waste time weaving the spells.
Even though my current way of connecting to spell constructs is probably one of the quickest casting methods, I still have to weave the constructs in the first place. This could let me bypass that.
Something for future me to deal with.
I moved on to the rewards from the Headmaster — well, more specifically, the skill book Save Impact rather than the sword art.
sword art can't be instantly learned like skills they have to be trained, so I'll leave the sword art for when I train later today.
I pushed my aether into the book. It disappeared like it had never been there, but a message from my status told me otherwise.
The skill [Save Impact] has been acquired!
I got a general idea of what the skill does, as stated in the name — it allows me to save an impact once and release it from any point on my body.
I can even use it to boost myself in a direction if I aim it right.
It would definitely help with close-quarters combat.
I laid back on my bed, happy with the day, ready to nap for a bit — until a knock rudely dismissed me from that option.
"Coming!"
I walked over and opened the door… to see a girl around my age who looked just like me.
Black hair, grey eyes, wearing the black-and-white freshman student uniform.
It was my sister — Anissa Neant.
She wore an annoyed look on her face. She didn't even come inside, just stood outside the door in the hallway.
"I'm here for one thing and one thing only. I can't have you embarrassing our family more than you already have. So just remember this — if you do anything foolish or anything of the sort, you'll answer to me for it."
Her grin turned cold as she pulsed her aether. I could feel it — early Squire rank. Weaker than Hamon and Thraalvex, but it was a clear warning from her.
Something — no, pride — in me fired up at the challenge.
"Aren't I the older sibling? I don't think an older brother would ever lose to his little sister, especially one as bratty as you."
"You dare talk back to me, being the weakling you are? I should pummel you where you stand, but I don't particularly want blood on my hands right now. Heed my warning — and take off that crown. It's not cool, it just looks ridiculous."
And with that, she turned around and left.
My pride was a bit hurt at the crown comment, but what did she know?
The crown was absolutely cool, if I had to say so myself.

Anissa was on her way back to the dorms, but the interaction she'd had earlier with her brother unnerved her.
Something was different about the usual lazy, cowardly bastard she had to call an older brother — even though he was only older by four minutes.
Today, he felt… how did she put it? Animalistic. The second she had exerted her Squire-rank presence to scare him a bit, he didn't flinch or cower.
He seemed intrigued — and in a weird way, hungry, like a beast waiting for its prey to make the first move.
Although, if anyone was the prey, it was surely him.
His sudden confidence only surprised her a little.
But she didn't feel much worry over it.
She was stronger than him.
She was their father's favorite.
And Amit was lazy trash that would never defeat her.
