The first thing Sunny did after reaching his room was browse the internet. After some minutes, he completed the epilogue of another webtoon. In these loops, apart from Wilderness Survival and Archery Practice, he just browsed webtoons, comics, and novels.
Some of them were thick with propaganda, though.
The reason he took archery lessons is because he has a way to acquire a bow and an arrow before going into the dream realm. Since he will be learning how to handle a sword from Nephis, learning how to use a bow has become important.
Another important thing he learned in these loops was how his flaw interacted with his future knowledge. Just thinking about that particular loop gave him a headache.
...
Loop 3 Location : Wilderness Survival Class
Sunny was studying Runic under the guidance of Teacher Julius. He had to be careful around him because of his flaw. It didn't take much time to come to the conclusion that his knowledge about the SS world or his previous world's memories had a restriction imposed by his flaw.
For example, if he walks up to Nephis and says, "Why do you want to kill the sovereigns?" his flaw for some reason will stop him from saying that.
He will literally turn mute.
He tried writing his future knowledge on a piece of paper once, and he couldn't even move his hands.
'It might be some universal restriction rather than my flaw doing this.'
After all, his flaw only stopped him from telling a lie rather than stopping him from writing something.
Throwing unnecessary thoughts from his head, he focused on translating the next set of runes.
One after another, he completed them.
Suddenly, Teacher Julius grabbed his hand and looked at him.
"Sunny, do you know which runic language you are translating now?"
His tone was dead serious.
Immediately, he rechecked the runes.
Realization hit soon.
'Crap, Julius didn't even introduce me to this language in this loop.'
He only knew it because he had already completed it in a previous loop!
Teacher Julius was looking at him.
"Hmm, it's a different one, you know? Did you perhaps study them already? In the library, maybe?"
He didn't even visit the library this time, and this should be his first time learning about this particular language in this loop.
The pressure of his flaw soon started to build up. Grabbing his head, Sunny tried to think of a way to escape.
Nothing came to mind.
"Sunny, are you okay?"
He looked up to see Julius looking at him with concern.
The next thing Sunny knew, he was standing in front of the academy gates.
'I died.'
His legs turned weak. Slowly, he sat on the snow. Nephis gave him a weird look.
The horrible implication settled in his mind.
Doesn't it basically mean he could never share his secret with anyone?
He didn't even know if he could die of old age.
He is destined to be alone.
…..
Back to Present,
'That memory was embarrassing.'
After dying in that loop, he did some research on his flaw. The results were good.
He really can't share his loop knowledge with anyone by any means.
But there is a weird condition.
If he tells someone that he is a time traveler or makes someone understand his loop condition, he could freely tell him or her whatever he wants.
By this logic, he could have told Julies that he knew about that particular language from another loop, and his flaw would have stopped working.
He found out about this by telling another sleeper that he was a time traveler.
He made sure to know his aspect beforehand. There is nothing that could be a threat.
This also means another thing; he has the choice to tell if someone is a time traveler.
He really overreacted, falling on his knees and all that.
He could also use it as a suicide trigger. If someone asked him about something he still was not supposed to know, then he has two options; either die or telling that person that he is a time traveler.
If any supernatural being was involved in his transmigration, then they sure patched up everything in his favor.
After planning his approach for this loop, he was sound asleep.
...
The first thing Sunny did after waking up was check how his shadow worked and his armor. He still hadn't done that in this loop.
After that, he moved to the cafeteria to have breakfast. Collecting his food, he sat on an empty table.
There was a commotion going on.
'Oh, the rankings. Nephis got her true name.'
Sunny looked at the rankings; fortunately, his ranking stayed the same, second from last.
After finishing his meal, he dropped the plate on the cleaning tray.
'The chefs here can really cook.'
He checked his communicator.
'I should start moving, or I will be late for class.'
...
Julius looked at the pale-skinned boy in front of him. He looked nothing special. Black wild hair with black eyes. The kid looked a little malnourished.
When he first heard that, a student applied for his course; he was, to be honest, stupefied. Normally, people don't apply for this course.
'Those brutes don't understand the value of knowledge.'
The kid talked respectfully and was polite, so I was genuinely happy to teach him.
'This, I am not dreaming, right?'
Sunny could gobble up materials like he is a sponge and knowledge is water. Difficult concepts, which would normally take some hours to understand, the kid could understand within minutes.
It was almost as if he was born to learn them.
He thought the kid was playing a joke on him. But his files say otherwise. From his documents, he knew the kid was an orphan and grew up on the outskirts. They didn't have the same facilities as a city kid would.
After a whole day, Sunny has already finished almost a week's worth of theoretical materials. He might have to move to practical now.
"Say, kid, what other courses are you attending?"
His student looked up from the book he was reading.
"Teacher, I only joined the archery lesson alongside this."
Julius thought for a moment.
"Archery, huh? I will put a good word for you to Naomi then."
"Umm, Naomi?"
"Awakened Naomi, you archery instructor."
Julius leaned on his chair and massaged his temples.
"What's your dream, Sunny?"
Sunny looked prepared for this type of question.
"For now, I want to survive and come back alive. After that, I don't know. Exploring the dream realm and gathering dates seems like my thing."
Julius instantly straightened up. His eyes shone like stars.
"Sunny, will you consider being a researcher?"
The poor kid seemed to be startled by the sudden outburst.
"Uhhh, yes, teacher, I will consider it."
And folks, this is how Sunny became Julius's favorite student of all time in a single day.
AN: Ahem, I dont know if it was the best way to handle how his flaw works, but this seemed like the best way.
Also, I decided to make the first and last loop the main focus while adding other loops in between, like a problem arises in a loop and he solves it in other loop.
Thanks for reading as always.
POWERSTONES PLEASE, and add it to your collection if you liked it.
