Outside the church, the towering structure loomed over the two figures standing near its entrance, their breaths visible in the cool night air.
Wolfgang stood in silence, his sharp eyes fixed on the heavy church doors. Beside him, Nash shifted his stance slightly before speaking.
"It's rare to see you without your wolves these days." Nash turned his head slightly, his gaze flicking toward Wolfgang. "Usually, they're around for almost every occasion."
Wolfgang lifted his eyes to meet Nash's. Though Nash was taller, Wolfgang didn't bother adjusting his posture. Instead, he tilted his head away, his tone plain.
"Brother doesn't like them being around, so I let them wait in the nearby woods."
Nash hummed, pulling his gaze away. "Well, Julius was right. Animals are better kept outside." His voice was light, but then he added, almost absentmindedly, "It's a big help for me too, since I don't really like killing animals."
