Chapter 1 - Alex: You are now in [Berserk] status!

A left hook slashed through the air, a heavy fist slamming into Connor's face, knocking him to his feet. The blond-haired, shaved-headed young man gritted his teeth after being hit hard by Alex's punch, forcing him to step back and regroup. His cheek was slightly bruised and swollen, but there were still two minutes left before the end of the first round.

Alex never underestimates his opponents. Even though their heights and weights are similar, he cannot lose focus in the ring because this fight is about the pride he carries as the club president. He brushed his curly brown hair that was stained with sweat, flowing from his forehead and covering his face. The air of the old gym was suffocating, as were the hot cheers of the boy and girl students who came to watch the tournament between the two boxing clubs that had been rivals for generations.

He had made a name for himself as one of the best fighters in the Lion Fight Club. During his freshman year, he pulled off a stunning upset by defeating the reigning champion of the rival Wolves team, securing a legendary win for the Lions. That victory wasn't just a highlight, it was a turning point. Since then, he rose through the ranks, proudly serving as the club's vice president. And now, with the new academic year just beginning, he was set to become club president.

"Come on, Alex! Teach those Wolf Club a lesson!" Ivan cheered from the side of the old boxing ring stage, where the sheets were starting to tear.

"Yes, Alex! Take down that son of a bitch Connor!" Leslie, Evan's red-haired girlfriend, also joined in the cheering.

"Fight, Alex!"

"Hey, Connor! Why are you being cornered like that!"

"Come on, Lions Club! Show those Wolves Club that you're the kings of this place!"

"Shut up! Wolves Club is the home team!"

"Fight, fight, fight!"

"Fight until you knock them out!"

"Knock him up, Alex!"

"Beat him like a cockroach, Connor!" The cheers from fans of both sides will never be silenced until the winner is one of them in the ring.

"Come, Connor. Come, you're Gary's hound number two, won't you? Don't you dare bring shame! Hehe," Alex beckoned with his tightly wrapped hands, challenging his opponent.

"You're quite quibbling, Alex. Anyway, if you were to meet Gary, your mouth wouldn't even move for a second!" Connor gave a teasing smirk.

"Yeah? Then why didn't the horde leader come out today? Is he scared? He even sent his lackeys... Oh, excuse me... Why did he send the vice president to the ring? Huh?"

Connor saw an opportunity to break the enemy's sanity. This is a dirty, tricky technique that has always led the Wolves to victory.

"Try asking Charlotte, you fool. By now, she must be having a blast getting the room with him. Hehe"

Alex heard his heart-wrenching words, and his mercury broke. His once-stable mind was overwhelmed by anger and the story of the rift in his heart.

"The fuck?! How dare you talk about that!"

After Alex finished speaking, he rushed towards his opponent with full speed, not holding back a single punch. The anger that erupted like a volcano was transmitted through his fists that dug into his flesh. He was so angry that his veins bulged and his face turned red.

Connor put up a full guard, he could feel that the punch was even more powerful. he felt that his arm was like a wall being pressed by a pendulum. At least the trick worked. He had to wait for the guy to open a gap and then go in and finish him off with one hit.

But it seemed like he miscalculated or missed something. The longer Alex stood there, the more powerful his punch became. The look through his guarding arms showed that Alex's brown eyes were covered with hatred, as if he were going to kill him.

"Oh! It seems that guy's got a sore spot."

"Haha! Come on, Alex, kill him!"

"I can feel that guy's angry for sure."

"Hey, hey! Connor, do something!"

Ivan, who was observing on the sidelines, could tell that his friend was now being attacked by anger. It was not good for him to fight in the ring. Anger would cause great disadvantages. Physically, it was not serious, but mentally, he was unstable and would lead to defeat.

"Calm down, Alex! You can't be upset, bro! Try to control your anger!"

"Babe, I think he's gone crazy. You need to stop him," Lesley said to his boyfriend with worry.

Suddenly, everyone's eyes froze. While Alex was furiously throwing punches, he opened a gap, allowing Connor to counter and stop him. From being on the offensive side, he had to be on the defensive side. Connor attacked and cornered him before being hit with a barrage of punches. Everyone, even Ivan and Leslie, was shocked because Alex was skilled at dodging but was easily hit by such a weak punch.

"Ha! You're done for me!"

Connor punched Alex in the jaw, his face was crushed, and he fell to the ring floor, losing the dignity of the president of the Lion Club.

"What?! Alex! Why is it like that!"

"Oh my! Unbelievable! The Lions' president was knocked out by the Wolves' vice president?"

"Haha! I told you, Wolves will still be the champions until the end of the day."

"Huh, what a shame... I was expecting Alex to do it. I guess I was expecting too much."

"Hey, Alex! Focus! You're the president of the club! You can't lose so stupidly!"

The cheers started to turn into chaos. Some of the Lions fans tried to encourage Alex to fight again, while some felt disappointed. The Wolves fans, who were few at first, started to increase in number. The situation was now reversed with a single punch from Connor.

"Wolf Club, Fight!"

"Beat that loser, Connor!"

"Wolf Club must win the championship!"

"This is even though Gary didn't even play himself. Wolves are unstoppable."

"Make it a beautiful one, Connor. Finish it off!"

Ivan and Leslie rushed to check on their friend, who was lying unconscious on the stage.

"Alex, you must never give up! We can't pollute the Lions Club. You've always done a good job. Don't let other things bother you." Ivan tried to cheer his friend up through the ring ropes.

"If you can't do it, don't force it, Alex. But I believe that you will get back up again like you always do. We believe in you. Please," Leslie tried with Ivan as well.

Alex's feelings right now were confused and chaotic. His eyes were blurry and blurred until he could see the light from the bulbs split into layers. The surrounding sounds seemed to fade and become incoherent echoes. Only the muffled whistling sound he could hear was heard. The careless words of the people on the sidelines didn't shake him as much as the way Connor had insulted him. His defeat to Gary had been decided long ago, not by the club, but by the girlfriend he loved and trusted, betraying him and going out with that kind of bastard. Maybe he should have accepted this truth long ago.

"I lost from the first, right..." He muttered in pain in his heart while lying on the floor like a dummy.

But then, suddenly [Ding!]

A voice rang out in his head as a strange holographic message window floated in front of him.

"What the hell! What happened to me?!"

A green rectangular window with white text notifications, similar to a video game interface.

[System Notification]

You are affected by: Berserk

Effect: Increases attack power and damage taken, but you cannot control yourself temporarily.

"B... Berserk what?!"

The message window disappeared as if it had never existed before, but there was something wrong with his body. His skin felt like there was some aura flowing through it, rubbing against it. The pain disappeared, and his body seemed to be forced to stand up again.

"That's..."

"Alex, stand up again!"

"That's right, Alex, that's how it should be!"

"Let's go! take down that son of a bitch Connor!"

"Haha, good effort, idiot. Wolves will win anyway."

"Wow, Lions are tough."

"Connor, take him down again!" The cheers returned as usual.

"Haha, this is worthy of being the most lousy club president!" Connor gave him a sneering look. But Alex stood still, his head hanging, and no sound could be heard, except for his rough breathing.

"Alex is finally standing again, babe!" Leslie jumps and dances with joy for her boyfriend.

On the other hand, Ivan felt something was abnormal. "No, dear... I don't think he's normal."

Leslie frowned in confusion. "Huh? What?"

"RRAAGGHH!!!"

Alex roared madly, his eyes blazing with rage, his brown pupils abnormally dilated, his expression fearsome. The limbs are weak and stiff like a piece of wood that is hard to bend. The lost strength returned, it surged as if the blood in his body was boiling. Anger was the only thing he could recall a little, but he was being controlled by furious Supernatural phenomena.

Many people were shocked into silence before bursting out in laughter at Alex's seemingly mad behavior. No one realized that what the young man in the ring did was something beyond imagination.

Hahahaha!

"What the... Hahaha!"

"That guy's going crazy, hahaha"

"Are you so scared of losing that you've lost your mind, Alex? Hahaha!"

"That's so funny. Oh my! Hahahaha"

"This is the moment. Go ahead, Alex!" There are still some people who expect the same from him.

"Connor, beat that clown up!" The people who are on the Wolves' side also gave some encouragement.

"Umm... Is he okay, babe?" Leslie was confused.

"No... Not at all..."

Ivan himself didn't know how to explain this phenomenon. His instincts were telling him that his friend was being attacked by something unseen. Since he had known this guy since he was a child, Alex had never shown such crazy and strange behavior. Even when Charlotte broke his heart, he had never shown such behavior. Moreover, he was no longer a middle school boy. Even if he were Alex, he would never do such a thing. So Ivan could only stand there, dumbfounded.

"What the heck? Hahaha, you must be crazy, Alex. Come on, I'll end the night myself."

Connor challenged, before swiping his thumb up his nose once and putting on his guard, sticking out his tongue in a mocking sneer.

"DIE YOUR RETARD!!!"

Alex lunged forward with speed. Connor, who was waiting for the attack, still had a cheerful grin on his face, but he was wrong when it was too late. Alex didn't use his fists, but chose to grab the shaved head's thin waist, then the sound of something falling to the ground echoed throughout the ring. He was suplexed by Alex after hitting the floor violently.

Just an ordinary wrestling technique, but it stunned everyone in the entire area. Even the Wolves Club team was stunned.

"Babe, where did Alex learn that technique?" Leslie covered her gaping mouth.

"I... don't know.... I didn't know he had wrestling techniques. He and I usually train boxing, not wrestling." Ivan was still standing there, dumbfounded.

"Ugh!"

Connor's chest tightened, and his upper spine, which had been hit on the ground, felt as if it was going to break into pieces. His body felt as if it was being paralyzed, and he had no strength to use his slender arms to support himself and stand up.

Alex stood up again. The eyes faded to white. Gritting his teeth loudly, Hands clenched into fists. At the same moment Ivan began to see the hidden entity controlling his friend, a faint red aura flowed around Alex's body.

"What is that..." He speaks in his mind.

"I WILL KILL YOU, SON OF BITHCES!!!" Alex's voice cracked, and his tone was creepy.

On the other hand, the voice in his mind contradicted the body that was being forced, feeling anxious and shocked. "I...I can't control myself! What's happening to me?!"

He walked straight to Connor, who was lying on the ground with a lump in his throat. He didn't say a word, grabbed his opponent, and pulled him above the ground before using his immense strength to slam Connor's body into the ground again. The sound of his body hitting the ground was louder than before.

Connor's bad luck tonight was not over yet. Alex couldn't stop himself. He straddled Connor's body, pinned him to the ground so he couldn't escape, and crushed him with his fists without stopping. During the first seconds, he was still able to put up his guard to protect his face. But after a moment, the guard broke. Then his face was smashed to a pulp.

"Ugh! Enough! I give up!"

Connor's pitiful, cornered words couldn't stop the fists that kept pounding him. Alex's eyes were unblinking as he watched his opponent get knocked out of shape.

"ENOUGH!!! PLEASE!!!"

"I have to stop... Stop! No! Why can't I stop myself?! Please stop!" Alex's mouth didn't move, but the frightening voice in his mind tried to awaken his uncontrollable body, but it was useless.

The audience around the arena began to think that this was not a normal event. The president of the Lions Club was going to kill his opponent. He did it for sure, not a joke.

"Hey, I think we have to help him..."

"Aren't we in a hurry to stop them?"

"Oh no! Stop them! Now!" Everyone was in a panic.

"Babe! Stop Alex! Before he kills Connor for real!" Leslie quickly pulled her boyfriend's arm and told him.
