"I betrayed you because you betrayed Freya first," Melwyn spat at Daemon, a dying woman's last attempt to leave her mark in the world by some deceptive ranting at how the entire world had been way too unfair to her.
"Is that what she told you," Daemon said, deciding to give the woman a last lick of his attention. Mainly because he nothing important to do for the time being until a long awaited guest of his arrived.
What better way to spend the remainder of his time but by listening to the rantings of a failed woman.
"You rejected her as your mate, did you not?!" Melywn growled, the chandelier that she hung from, dancing above her as if to announce her impending death should she tug on it the wrong way.
