Chapter 52 - Chapter 25.3 - The Judgement of the Sun: The Fall of Carcinus

The darkness enveloped the hall of the House of Cancer, the cold walls and heavy atmosphere filling the space with a palpable tension. In the center, Midoki knelt, his knees buckling, his body on the verge of collapse. He had been freed from his prison, but his body showed signs of extreme wear, as if being devoured from the inside out.

- Midoki: "Who... who are you?" Midoki asked, his voice hoarse, as he looked at Spink, who stood before him. The rabbit, known as the Brilliant Gale, simply smiled in response, her eyes glowing with a soft light.

Before Spink could answer, however, she stepped forward and inadvertently brushed against an invisible thread that snaked across the floor. Her body immediately froze, her eyes widening in shock. She fell to the ground, trapped by Carcinus's ability: the Eternal Prison.

Alarmed, Midoki tried to rise, but his weakened body held him back. He scanned the room, his vision blurry, and then his eyes locked onto Carcinus, the Cancer Emissary, lurking in the shadows of the hall.

- Midoki: "When did you activate these threads again?" Midoki asked, anger burning in his voice. Carcinus, an angel with a cold and indifferent aura, stepped out of the shadows, his wings enveloped in a dark aura.

- Carcinus: "The Cancer Claws are stubborn." He replied calmly. "As soon as a victim escapes, they weave more threads, spreading quickly throughout the hall. There's no avoiding them."

Midoki clenched his fists in frustration. He felt Spink's presence fading, her life force draining from her by Carcinus's ability. Was she an ally? The doubt lingered for a moment but was quickly replaced by certainty. Spink was being manipulated, controlled, and now she was turning against him.

- Spink: "Midoki..." Spink's voice sounded strangely mechanical as her glowing eyes turned toward him, now fully under Carcinus's control. "Fight..."

Before he could react, Spink lunged. The storm of speed known as Speedstorm manifested around her, turning her into a blur of light and lightning. Midoki barely had time to manifest his katana before being struck numerous times by bursts of light and electricity. Each strike was too fast for him to follow, and his already weakened body felt the weight of the devastation.

- Midoki: "Damn..." Midoki thought, trying to focus his mind. He tried to summon his ability, the Shinrei of Eminence, but what emerged was a pathetic version of the Law of Originalism - Destruction. His attempt to use destruction was insufficient, and he barely managed to dissipate the energy surrounding him.

For over half an hour, Midoki struggled to resist Spink's relentless attacks. The room trembled with the impact of each strike, until, finally, a distraction appeared. Throk and Neptune entered the hall, their imposing presences filling the space.

- Throk: "We finally made it." Taking a deep breath, he glanced at Neptune. "Good thing you decided to create that water bridge using the moisture from the clouds, or we'd still be lost back there on that destroyed path."

Neptune nodded with a slight smile.

- Neptune: "We have to save our allies."

Midoki, his eyes locked on Spink and Carcinus, finally understood the situation. Spink and Neptune were certainly new allies.

- Midoki: "Be quick." Midoki said, wiping blood from his mouth as he tried to rise. "She's being controlled."

Neptune looked at Midoki and responded quickly:

- Neptune: "Let's leave the introductions for later." He then raised his arms, invoking the power of water, while Throk prepared for combat.

The battle took a new turn. Throk and Neptune joined forces with Midoki, forming a formidable alliance. Carcinus, however, seemed unbothered.

- Carcinus: "Do you think you can overcome the Eternal Prison?" Carcinus mocked, his wings expanding. "You're trapped in my hall. Here, I'm invincible."

But Throk, his eyes glowing with fierce light, was ready to prove otherwise. During the fight, he began absorbing the light generated by Spink's techniques, using the World Mystic Tree - Spirit Energy Drain to drain her spiritual energy. With each blow he blocked or dodged, the light from Spink was absorbed into his body.

- Throk: "This... this is perfect..." Throk murmured, feeling his wounds heal. The luminous energy from Spink regenerated him as he continued fighting against her.

Neptune, on the other hand, focused on Carcinus. Using the powers of the Tide, he conjured waves of water to disrupt Carcinus's treacherous movements, trying to break the connection between the angel and Spink.

- Neptune: "Midoki, we need to cut the threads!" Neptune shouted while blocking Carcinus's mental attacks.

Midoki nodded, focusing all his remaining strength on the Shinrei Sogai-zai katana. The spiritual treasure glowed, cutting the invisible threads connecting Spink to Carcinus. But the threads were numerous, and the battle seemed endless.

It was then that Throk, with Spink's light finally absorbed, activated his Solar Form.

- Throk: "You're not worthy to fight by my side." Throk said, his voice arrogant. The golden glow around him made the entire hall hotter, the stones around him beginning to melt. "Watch and see who I really am."

Carcinus sneered.

- Carcinus: "Miserable and arrogant creature."

- Throk: "It's not arrogance if you really are the best." Throk replied. "And I am."

With a powerful roar, Throk unleashed the Eternal Sun. The explosion of light and heat was immense, and the threads of the Eternal Prison that surrounded Spink were instantly melted. Carcinus screamed in agony, burned eternally, and Spink fell to the ground, free.

With Carcinus defeated and dead, Spink rose, still panting but conscious again. Neptune and Midoki watched in admiration as Throk remained at the center, illuminated by the energy of the sun.

- Midoki: "Impressive..." Midoki murmured. "You've finally surpassed me, Throk."

- Throk: "Let's go." Throk said, turning. "We have more houses in Olympus to conquer."

And so, the quartet prepared to move on to the next battle, united and stronger than ever.
