Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Dai Mubai's Fate

Chapter 186: Dai Mubai's Fate

Buzz—

On Sea God Island, Su Mo, who was absorbing the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone, remained unaware that the memories left behind by the Tang San he had killed were absorbed by the future Sea God Tang San.

After three days of refinement, Su Mo successfully absorbed the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone.

Upon absorbing this 100,000-year soul bone, Su Mo's soul power directly rose to rank 74.

This 100,000-year soul bone had increased his soul power by about one and a half ranks.

At the same time, Su Mo also acquired the two soul skills embedded in the Blue Silver Emperor's soul bone: Flight and Recovery.

Flight was rather useless to Su Mo—a somewhat redundant skill.

However, the Recovery skill was different. It even had a poetic name: "Wildfires Cannot Burn It Away, the Spring Wind Blows It Back to Life."

The effect of this recovery soul skill lived up to its name. As long as Su Mo wasn't instantly killed, no matter how severe his injuries or disabilities were, as long as he had enough soul power, this skill could restore him.

Its powerful regenerative ability was almost akin to resurrection.

Compared to Ye Lingling's healing abilities, it was far superior. At the very least, Ye Lingling's healing couldn't regenerate severed limbs, whereas the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone soul skill could.

In the original story, Tang Hao's severed arm and leg were regenerated by Tang San using the Blue Silver Emperor's soul bone. Similarly, the arm Tang San severed to revive Xiao Wu was also restored through this soul bone.

After absorbing Tang San's soul ring and the Blue Silver Emperor's soul bone, Su Mo quietly returned to Spirit City.

He only wanted to take a look and see whether the Shrek Academy team had ultimately won the championship.

By Su Mo's estimation, the Spirit Hall team had almost no chance of winning.

As for the Heaven Dou Royal Academy team? Su Mo didn't believe they could defeat the Spirit Hall team in the loser's bracket. The final championship match would undoubtedly be between the Shrek team and the Spirit Hall team.

"Alright, welcome to the finals of the Spirit Master Tournament!"

"Now, let's invite the Shrek Academy team and the Spirit Hall team to enter the arena!"

To Su Mo's surprise, his arrival coincided with the start of the final match.

Thus, Su Mo prepared to enjoy the last battle of the finals.

Once the members of both teams took the stage, the fight quickly commenced.

"The Shrek team is definitely going to win..."

"Even without Tang San, the Shrek team still has three Soul Kings. Even if Dai Mubai is injured and can't fight at full strength, he's still no match for an ordinary Soul Ancestor..."

"Who would've thought the championship would still go to the Shrek team in the end..."

"It's a shame. If Su Mo hadn't been disqualified, the Heaven Dou Royal Academy team would've definitely won..."

"Yeah, what a pity..."

"Not a pity at all! With the strength Su Mo displayed, does he even need a championship to prove himself?"

"Has anyone in history ever reached Soul Sage at just 19 years old?"

"Exactly. Even without winning the championship, Su Mo was still the most outstanding participant in this tournament!"

"..."

As the audience watched the match, most of their discussions revolved around Su Mo.

It could be said that even though Su Mo wasn't present, the arena was filled with legends about him.

After all, reaching Soul Sage at 19 was simply too monstrous.

"Hmph!"

"So what? The championship still belongs to our Shrek Academy in the end!"

Flender, the dean of Shrek Academy, naturally heard these comments, but he didn't care. All that mattered to him was that the championship belonged to the Shrek team.

Su Mo killing Tang San and being disqualified was, in his eyes, well-deserved.

While he was deeply saddened by Tang San's death, his greater sorrow was for Yu Xiaogang.

A student was just a student—compared to the entire Shrek Academy, he cared more about his own institution.

No one was happier about Su Mo's disqualification than Flender.

Without Su Mo, the championship was as good as theirs—it had to be the Shrek team's.

Still, despite his joy, Flender didn't dare show it openly.

After all, Yu Xiaogang had just lost his disciple. It wouldn't be appropriate to appear too celebratory.

Moreover, he genuinely felt heartache and regret over Tang San's death.

Today's match was one that Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong did not attend.

Yu Xiaogang still hadn't recovered from Tang San's death, and Liu Erlong naturally stayed behind to accompany him.

Back to the match.

Once both teams released their spirits, the final battle of the Spirit Master Tournament officially began.

With just a glance, Su Mo knew the championship would indeed go to Shrek Academy.

The Spirit Hall team wasn't weak, but facing a Shrek team with three Soul Kings was simply too difficult.

Zhu Zhuqing, the captain of the Spirit Hall team, fought valiantly, but in the end, she couldn't defy fate.

Dai Mubai, fueled by hatred for Zhu Zhuqing, relentlessly pursued her, wanting to teach her a harsh lesson.

Unfortunately, due to his injuries, he couldn't fight at full strength.

Not only did he fail to punish Zhu Zhuqing, but he was also thoroughly beaten by her.

It wasn't until Ma Hongjun teamed up with Dai Mubai that they finally managed to defeat Zhu Zhuqing.

With Zhu Zhuqing's defeat, the remaining members of the Spirit Hall team stood no chance against the Shrek team's onslaught.

In the end, the championship of this year's Spirit Master Tournament went to the Shrek team.

"Hahaha, excellent!"

"Our Shrek Academy has finally won the Spirit Master Tournament championship!"

Naturally, Flender was the most ecstatic upon confirming his team's victory.

With this championship, he was confident he could elevate Shrek Academy to even greater heights in the future.

Prestige, talented students—he would have it all.

"Dai Mubai, by the Crown Prince's order, you are to return with us to the Star Luo Empire!"

"You've been away long enough. The Crown Prince says it's time for the prince to return home!"

However, Flender's joy didn't last long. Members of the Star Luo Empire team soon arrived, explicitly demanding Dai Mubai's return.

"Dean Flender!"

Dai Mubai's face paled as he looked pleadingly at Flender.

He hoped Flender could help him.

If he returned, he would have to face the punishment for failing the royal competition.

If he could avoid it, he would.

"Dai Mubai, since this is the Star Luo Crown Prince's command, you should go back with them."

"Shrek Academy is just an academy, after all. It's not appropriate for us to interfere in the Star Luo Empire's affairs."

In response to Dai Mubai's plea, Flender shook his head and spoke in a helpless tone.

Hearing this, Dai Mubai's face turned even paler.

Meanwhile, Zhu Zhuqing watched this scene unfold from the sidelines.

She couldn't help but feel immense relief. Thankfully, she had made the right choice back then—otherwise, she would undoubtedly have been summoned back alongside Dai Mubai by Crown Prince Dai维斯.

As she watched Dai Mubai being taken away, her gratitude toward Su Mo deepened even further.

"Prince Dai Mubai, let's go."

The Star Luo Empire representatives sneered inwardly at Dai Mubai's pathetic state before continuing coldly.

As the speaker finished, two spirit masters subtly moved to flank Dai Mubai, ready to forcibly take him away if he resisted.

Dai Mubai realized there was no escape.

Despair washed over him.

His gaze fell on Zhu Zhuqing in the distance, and his expression twisted with malice. "Fine, I'll go with you. But what about her?" he spat. "She's my fiancée, a member of the Zhu family. Didn't my brother order you to bring her back too?"

Knowing his fate was sealed, Dai Mubai sought to drag Zhu Zhuqing down with him.

"Dai Mubai, we have no connection anymore!" Zhu Zhuqing's voice was icy as she glared at him from afar.

"Don't worry," Hu Liena stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Zhu Zhuqing's shoulder. "With me here, no one will take you away."

The Star Luo Empire delegation glanced at Zhu Zhuqing upon hearing Dai Mubai's words, only to be met with Hu Liena's firm declaration. Though displeased, they suppressed their irritation.

The Crown Prince's orders hadn't included retrieving Zhu Zhuqing, and they had no intention of complicating matters.

"Apologies," one of them replied stiffly to Dai Mubai. "The Crown Prince's command only concerns you. We have no orders regarding Zhu Zhuqing."

"Then use your own judgment!" Dai Mubai snapped, his composure shattering. "Isn't she a citizen of Star Luo Empire?"

"Prince Dai Mubai," the lead envoy said calmly, "return with us first. The Crown Prince will decide Zhu Zhuqing's fate in due time."

Unmoved, he signaled to his subordinates. "Escort the prince back. We're leaving."

"I don't need dragging!" Dai Mubai snarled, striding into the Star Luo team's formation with forced dignity—a pitiful display of crumbling pride.

Zhu Zhuqing watched coldly as he was led away. His attempt to implicate her only solidified her contempt for the wretched man he was.

What a satisfying spectacle.

Hidden in the shadows, Su Mo observed everything with amusement. Having witnessed Dai Mubai's downfall, he teleported back to Sea God Island in high spirits.

It was time to complete the second trial of the Sea God's Nine Trials. Nearly half a year had passed since they began the challenge—roughly the same duration as the Spirit Master Tournament, from preliminaries to finals.

"Su Mo, where have you been these past few days?" Ning Rongrong asked as soon as he returned. "Did something happen?"

"An unexpected incident," Su Mo admitted with a light shrug. "I was disqualified, so I didn't win the championship."

"What? Why?" Ning Rongrong's eyes widened.

Ye Lingling also turned to him curiously.

"Tang Hao showed up..." Su Mo recounted the events at the tournament, including Tang San's death.

"Tang San... is really dead?" Ning Rongrong murmured, more surprised than mournful. To her, Tang San had never held the same significance as Xiao Wu.

But what truly shocked both girls was the revelation that Tang San had dropped a spirit ring upon death.

"Was Tang San not human? A hundred-thousand-year spirit beast in human form?" Ning Rongrong frowned. "But his second spirit was the Clear Sky Hammer! And why a twenty-thousand-year black ring instead of a red one?"

Su Mo chuckled. "Tang San's mother was a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor who took human form. He was a hybrid—part spirit beast, part human. That's why he had twin spirits: Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer. Or rather, Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer."

Understanding dawned on their faces. They didn't question how Su Mo knew; his sources were his own.

Su Mo then explained his absence: "I was absorbing a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor spirit bone."

Ning Rongrong and Ye Lingling congratulated him on the incredible gain.

"Prepare yourselves," Su Mo said decisively. "We're finishing the second trial today. Since this stage doesn't enhance our cultivation much, there's no point delaying."

They agreed without hesitation.

That same day, Su Mo led them through the trial effortlessly. The challenge—crossing the Ringed Sea without harming sea spirit beasts or using spirit ring skills—was trivial for someone who could simply teleport past it.

With a single flash-step, they were done.
