Gu Nanqiao waved him off, softly rejecting him, "No need, you go back."
Fu Lingfeng's hand remained stiff in the air, unsure of what to do.
"I want to be alone for a while." She raised her hand, rubbing her forehead, feeling weary in both body and mind.
Fu Lingfeng expressed his concern, "I am not at ease seeing you like this, shall I call a doctor over?"
"I said no need." She shook her head, her tone still firm in rejection.
After a while, when she felt her strength returning, she slowly stood up leaning against the door.
Fu Lingfeng stood still, watching her desolate figure, repeatedly hesitating to speak, but eventually couldn't help asking, "Xiaoqiao, will you really not give me another chance?"
Gu Nanqiao was slightly stunned.
She vaguely remembered, a similar sentence, that someone else had once asked her the same.
"I did, though," her gaze hollow, her voice numb, "I gave you a chance, but then you didn't want me."
