Vanessa stared at the sleeping Tara as she checked the small girl's temperature. The small girl wrapped herself with the small pink duvet, making her look like a small ball.
She seemed alright, but Stacy was right. Tara was a small child. She would need something to keep her body warm, especially during this cold weather.
Standing up, she made her way to the kitchen. She checked the kitchen cabinets, but almost all the ingredients were empty.
"Someone," she called out, annoyed at what she was seeing.
Just then, a pale-skinned maid walked into the kitchen as Vanessa questioned her, "What's going on here? Why are the ingredients and groceries empty? Aren't they supposed to be restocked? What's the meaning of this?"
Shaking slightly, the maid responded, "We are very sorry, ma'am. Because of the rain yesterday, we couldn't get the ingredients, so Head Maid Vivian went along with some maids to the main market today to get the groceries… they will be back soon."
