Chapter 149 - Chapter 142: The Clever U-1206

U-1206 had successfully convinced her fellow shipgirls that their commander possessed formidable combat abilities.

For the Iron Blood camp, known for its strict discipline, while this was not entirely unacceptable, it certainly raised some doubts.

However, after witnessing Lin Lan wield an elemental lightsaber and use talismans with their own eyes, the shipgirls were left utterly stunned.

This power, unlike anything they had ever seen before, was an eye-opening experience.

Fortunately, Lin Lan was already well-regarded among them, and the Iron Blood shipgirls had no intention of dissecting him in public.

Moreover, shipgirls possessed an innate familiarity with their commanders and would never mistake one for someone else.

Thus, after Lin Lan openly declared that he had gained some form of supernatural power, the Iron Blood shipgirls—aside from their curiosity and surprise—did not cause much of a commotion.

After all, the Iron Blood philosophy dictated that any power was a good thing, as long as it could be controlled within their own hands.

As their commander, Lin Lan provided them with an explanation for how he had acquired such miraculous abilities.

Most of the Iron Blood shipgirls refrained from asking too many questions.

As long as the commander was here, they were content.

Once Lin Lan finished his presentation and the meeting concluded, the little chibis from the Z-Drive and U-boat units immediately gathered around him.

"Commander, that Clear Sky Talisman from yesterday was amazing! With you around, won't it be possible to have perfect weather every day?"

U-101 removed his hat and stood beside Lin Lan, his eyes shining with excitement.

"I'd be able to sail out to sea and race all the time, without worrying about the rain or wind ruining my mood!"

Gazing at the lively, blue-haired racing enthusiast before him, Lin Lan couldn't help but smile.

"It's best not to use spells that manipulate the weather too frequently. Otherwise, it could disrupt the natural cycle of elemental generation in the surrounding environment."

The original effect of the Clear Sky Talisman lasted three days.

Of course, since Lin Lan had already maxed out his proficiency with talismans, he could freely adjust its duration at will.

However, as someone from Blue Star in the 21st century, Lin Lan understood the ecological damage that unchecked meteorological disturbances could cause.

Thus, he had no intention of abusing this talisman—its usage should remain limited.

"Commander, you sound just like those guys from the Sakura Empire. Why do they always talk about things we don't understand?"

Although U-101 didn't fully grasp what Lin Lan meant by "elements," he understood one thing—his commander did not want to use weather-control abilities too frequently.

"Commander, Commander! Since you can make the sky clear, does that mean you can also make it cloudy, windy, rainy, or even snowy?"

The little red-haired submarine chibi, U-1206, her twin ponytails bouncing as she moved, clung tightly to Lin Lan's right arm, her starry eyes brimming with excitement.

"Well, theoretically, yes. But if there aren't enough corresponding elemental forces in the surrounding environment, the effect may be significantly weakened."

No sooner had Lin Lan finished his explanation than U-1206 eagerly continued,

"Then, Commander, what would happen if you used two or three different weather talismans at the same time?"

"?"

Lin Lan was momentarily taken aback by U-1206's question. That was something he had never considered before.

U-1206, are you trying to break the system?

After pondering the question for a while, he chose to flick the little cutie's forehead lightly.

"Ouch!"

U-1206 clutched his head and looked at Lin Lan with an aggrieved expression.

"That's your reward for having such an overactive imagination. It needs some restraint."

Lin Lan maintained a calm expression, shamelessly dodging the question.

"Commander, you're bullying me!"

U-1206, rubbing his forehead, pouted in protest. His reaction only made the surrounding Iron Blood chibis burst into laughter.

"Commander, can you show us that lightsaber again?"

Z1-sama, the short silver-haired leader of the Z-Drive unit, was also filled with anticipation.

"That's easy. Watch this."

Lin Lan never hesitated to fulfill his shipgirls' requests.

He raised his right hand, and in an instant, a sharp sword formed from rapidly rotating air currents materialized in his grasp.

As the wind-element sword emerged, a sudden gust swept through the conference room, disturbing the previously still air and ruffling Lin Lan's clothes.

Naturally, it also sent the hair and skirts of the surrounding Iron Blood chibis fluttering, causing his face to flush slightly.

"Wow!" "As expected of you, Commander!"

The Z-Drive and U-boat shipgirls, still children at heart, watched with wide eyes, completely entranced by the spectacular display.

Even the usually silent Z46 and Z2 had expressions of surprise on their faces.

The little U-boat chibis had just returned from a sea patrol mission and were still dressed in their tight swimsuits.

Meanwhile, the Z-Drive girls, though wearing skirts, showed no concern about their modesty in front of Lin Lan and their fellow shipgirls.

Although this wind-element sword wasn't as imposing as the large lightsaber Lin Lan had demonstrated earlier on the podium, it was still undeniably impressive.

Even Deutschland, who had been standing guard at the conference room door, took notice of the weapon in Lin Lan's hand.

Walking against the wind, she approached with a look of admiration.

"As expected of my Mount No. 2. You look as majestic as a god of war from myth."

Hearing Deutschland's words, Lin Lan couldn't help but chuckle.

"Don't flatter me. If I'm the god of war and you call me your mount, does that mean you're planning to become the god-king?"

"Heh, no matter what you become, you will always be my Mount No. 2. That's an unchangeable fact."

Deutschland grinned with absolute confidence, fixing her long black hair with its red-and-white highlights, which had been tousled by the wind.

Well, Lin Lan had to admit—he was slightly amused by this proud and iron-willed little princess.

At that moment, Teacher Nimi suddenly tugged at the corner of his clothes.

Lin Lan looked down in confusion at the cute starter ship, whose hat was nearly blown away by the wind.

"Commander, it seems Akashi is waiting for you at the door."

Z23 pointed outside. Lin Lan followed her gaze and spotted Akashi peeking in, a look of surprise on her face.

With a wave of his hand, Lin Lan dissipated the wind blade back into the air before walking over, now surrounded by a group of little chibis.

"What's the matter, little profiteer? If you wanted to see me, you could have just come in. Why are you sneaking around?"

Lin Lan eyed Akashi, who looked like she had something urgent to say. Just as he opened his mouth to ask, he noticed Huten stepping in from the attic office entrance.

"Commander, the drones patrolling the port have detected a fleet sailing down the river toward our area," Ulrich reported in a serious tone.

Lin Lan was slightly taken aback.

This place was so remote—why would anyone come here, let alone with a fleet?

This was rare. Who could it be?

Could it be that Battleaxe Military Industries was causing trouble again?

At that thought, Lin Lan sneered.

If it really was those Battleaxe bastards, they were going to regret it.

Just as he was about to prepare the Iron Blood Fleet for a "warm welcome," Akashi's cat ears twitched as she said,

"Commander, meow~ The goods that Sun Dewang ordered from Yunhai City have arrived, meow~ I had them delivered specially, meow~"

Akashi's words made Lin Lan suddenly realize—

Oh.

How could he have forgotten about that?
