Pov Evelyn,
Now that Pettigrew was finally behind bars, awaiting trial and set to receive the Dementor's Kiss, I could finally rest.
For almost two months, we had been searching for him without any sign of his existence.
I don't remember who told me, but apparently, Professor Lupin is going to stop teaching here.
When I entered his office, I heard Harry asking him why.
"The night could have ended very badly for you."
"Yeah, but we're fine, and he's the real culprit."
"Maybe, but I can't stop thinking about what could have happened if things had gone differently. You have to understand, Harry, that I'm dangerous for the students, and others might figure out who I am, so it's better to leave before problems arise."
"You were the best DADA teacher we've ever had."
"That's kind of you to say. Plus, I heard from Dumbledore that you finally managed to produce a full-bodied stag Patronus."
Harry asked Professor Lupin why his Patronus hadn't chased away the Dementors like Marie's had.
"It's because there were too many Dementors for the Patronus to handle alone. Unless you have a True Patronus, it would be impossible to fend off a hundred Dementors by yourself."
I stepped in to explain a little more to Harry about the power of a Patronus and the difference between a regular Patronus and a True Patronus.
"You too, Evelyn? Did you come to say goodbye?"
"Indeed. I know it would be impossible for you to live properly if there were a chance that you could hurt someone, and yesterday was proof of that. Even if no one is forcing you to leave, I understand your decision. However, I have a proposal for you."
"And what kind of proposal?"
"Join my research group. If it reassures you, you wouldn't be the only werewolf in the team. You would have access to a full supply of wolfsbane potion and people to share the burden with."
I also explained to him that most researchers are not racist, and as long as they have extra manpower, they will be happy.
"Besides, wouldn't it be interesting to recover lost knowledge and redefine everything about the wizarding world?"
"I admit it would be tempting. But isn't there a law against hiring werewolves?"
A smirk appeared on my lips.
"You think I'm afraid of the Ministry? They're the ones afraid of me. I am one of the most prestigious figures in the British magical world, so if they dared to overstep, I would simply leave, and that would be a great loss for them. My influence is such that I believe there could be a war just to have me in their country. I generate far too much profit for them to try anything against me."
For once, I was happy about the influence I had because otherwise, I might have had to go to war against the British Ministry of Magic.
He agreed, thinking that it might be interesting to have an experience like this.
"Perfect. Dobby!"
There was a loud crack, and Dobby the house-elf appeared.
"Mistress Evelyn called Dobby?"
"Dobby?"
Harry seemed shocked to see him.
"So, you were Evelyn's house-elf?"
"No, the great Harry Potter is mistaken. Dobby was a house-elf of the horrible Malfoy family, but Mistress Evelyn freed Dobby and offered him a job. Now, Dobby serves Evelyn with all his heart."
"And I thank you. You are a great help. I would like you to request the preparation of an LG-type contract with options 9-10 and 15-30."
"It will be done as you wish, Mistress Evelyn."
"Also, once you're done requesting the papers, I want you to bring Professor Lupin here to show him the contract."
All the options correspond to the tasks he will have to do, and I'm sure they are the ones he will like the most.
"Dobby will do as Mistress Evelyn wishes."
"Well then, it was a pleasure to meet you, Evelyn and Harry. I hope to see you again soon."
"It will be sooner in my case because we have an underwater exploration coming up together, and I can't wait for that day."
