Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Let’s Go Together, Sakura!

"What?!"

Whooosh!!

Like giant cannons, two enormous shapes appeared in the path of Enuma Elish's destructive force, swallowing the deadly blast into themselves. Gilgamesh's expression froze in shock as he witnessed his attack being absorbed.

Boom!!

As expected, the next moment, the attack came flying back out from the other end of the magical cylinder. His own devastating strike had been reflected!

"No!" Gilgamesh's face twisted in disbelief. The thought of his Enuma Elish being turned against him was too absurd to comprehend. He had never imagined being caught off-guard like this.

"Ohhhhhh!!!"

Even though his golden armor boasted incredible defense, the spatial-tearing power of **Ea** was no ordinary force. The attack began to slice through the air, distorting space itself.

---

Berserker, watching from nearby, couldn't help but feel something strange. Gilgamesh's arrogance had led him right into a trap, and now he was being forced to taste the consequences. In a way, it was ironic. His boasts had been grand, but now he was the one suffering from his own weapon.

---

"Caster managed to reflect an attack of that magnitude with a spell? That's... unreal!" Saber, Waver, and the others were stunned as they watched the powerful energy of Ea turn back against its wielder. That was no ordinary attack—it was a weapon capable of cutting through worlds, a conceptual weapon. Even though it wasn't fully unleashed, its destructive power was beyond anything most could withstand.

To see it deflected so effortlessly was almost unimaginable.

---

"Hah! Serves you right!" Jounouchi grinned, his expression filled with excitement. Watching the smug Gilgamesh be thrown back by his own attack gave him the same rush as watching Kaiba get knocked down a peg during one of their duels. The thrill was almost too good to be true.

Whooosh!

When the overwhelming power of the reflected Enuma Elish faded, there was no sign of the arrogant King of Heroes. Gilgamesh wasn't dead—he had simply retreated, too humiliated to stay any longer. His pride had been shattered, and his golden presence vanished from the battlefield.

"The coward ran," Saber said, recognizing that Gilgamesh couldn't stand the embarrassment of his failed attack.

"Ha, does it really matter? We're no better off," Lelouch said, barely hiding his frustration. They had counted on Gilgamesh to help, only to nearly be obliterated by his carelessness.

"It's still killing the citizens... we need to stop it now," Kenshin said, his gaze locked on the still-rampaging Witch of Battle. There was no time to worry about anything else. If they didn't act quickly, the destruction would only spread, and countless lives would be lost.

"If you think I'm the type to ignore innocent lives, Rider, you're mistaken," Kenshin said firmly, determined to stop the chaos.

"You're full of surprises, Assassin," Lelouch remarked, raising an eyebrow. "But it's true—if we don't stop it soon, the city is doomed."

"Rider, now's not the time for snide comments!" Waver protested, understanding how dire the situation was. If the Witch continued rampaging, the magical world would face severe consequences. The Mage's Association would intervene, and the resulting chaos would lead to unimaginable fallout.

"Heh, the solution is right in front of us," Lelouch responded, glancing toward Saber.

"Ah, yes," Saber said with a nod. "I contacted Kiritsugu. He'll use a Command Spell to replenish my mana. I'll be able to unleash my Noble Phantasm again and destroy Lancer."

Saber's explanation was simple but clear. If Kiritsugu used a Command Spell, Saber would have enough power to unleash Excalibur one final time, even if it left them with only one remaining Command Spell. They would be at a disadvantage later in the war, but it was a price worth paying to save the city.

"By the power of the Command Spell—" Kiritsugu began, prepared to act.

---

But just as Saber readied herself, something strange happened. The **Witch of Battle** suddenly stopped moving.

"What the...?"

---

"Stop it, Sakura!!" Jounouchi shouted, his voice hoarse with desperation as he watched the Witch continue its rampage. "Damn it! Can't you hear me at all?"

Panic filled the streets as more citizens screamed in terror, the destructive force of the **Witch** spreading. Jounouchi clenched his fists in frustration.

---

"Thank you, mister!"

Not far away, Berserker continued rescuing civilians from collapsed buildings. Among them, a young boy with red hair recognized him. It was the same boy who often played in the park, and he looked up at Berserker with admiration.

But Berserker didn't say a word. After ensuring the boy was safe, he leaped to the rooftop, his gaze fixed on the Witch of Battle.

---

He gripped his spear tightly, preparing to deliver a final, decisive blow. Gilgamesh might have fled, but Berserker had no such luxury. With what little mana he had left, he resolved to use his most powerful technique to destroy the **Witch** before it could do any more damage.

"Stop!!" A voice cried out.

Berserker turned his head and saw Jounouchi running toward him, shouting.

"I'll stop her!" Jounouchi's determined voice echoed across the battlefield.

Berserker hesitated for a moment, glancing between Jounouchi and the rampaging **Witch**. Seeing Jounouchi's conviction, he lowered his spear, giving him a chance.

"Thank you!" Jounouchi called out in relief, knowing he didn't have the mana left to draw another card for a last-ditch effort.

---

"Sakura! I know you're suffering right now. I know this isn't the real you!" Jounouchi yelled as loudly as he could, his voice carrying across the battlefield.

"You're not the kind of girl who would do something like this. I believe in you!"

His mind flashed back to their first meeting, to the kind-hearted and strong girl who had fought alongside him. There was no way that girl would willingly hurt innocent people.

"Sakura!" he called again, stepping forward. "Do you know what it means to be a friend? It means standing by each other through thick and thin! It means being there when you mess up, punching you in the face if you need to be snapped out of it!"

He smiled, thinking of Yugi and the others. "Friends are people who'll always be there for you—even if you screw up. And right now, you're making a big mistake."

He lifted his broken Duel Disk, the reminder of their bond, and smiled warmly.

"I should've stopped you before it came to this, and that's on me. But I'll take responsibility. I'll pull you out of this mess, and if we have to go to the next world to fix it, we'll do it together!"

Jounouchi's hand moved toward the glowing card on his Duel Disk, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.

"Sakura, even without this… we'll always be friends. So… let's go together!"

His fingers grasped the card, and in that moment, the Witch of Battle halted. The dark energy surrounding her began to dissipate, and her massive form slowly disintegrated.
