Chapter 135 - The Horror of a Large-Scale War

In the days to come, Jun, accompanied by a small army, secretly departed for the walls where Qin was defending itself against the combined armies of all the warring states except one. Qin had managed, with great effort, to remove this particular state from the equation, preventing the enemy forces from becoming even larger.

Even so, the numbers were absurdly disproportionate.

It's important to understand that an alliance and a coalition led by Zhao were two completely different concepts. Zhao could not hold the other nations by the neck; if a coalition existed, it was due to shared interests.

To defeat this army, Jun said nothing, but his mind was filled with countless thoughts and ideas. The matter of the warring states' coalition had been weighing on his mind for some time.

His advisors, like Kyou Kai, had also been pondering whether they should only highlight the key areas to focus on if they wanted to at least avoid losing the battle.

After all, if they couldn't hold back the coalition army and push the enemies back, any reason to resist would become meaningless at this point.

During this military campaign, Jun was receiving reports from different battlefields. What he learned was nothing short of tragic.

He still didn't know whether it was best to bring his army forward at this point and initiate a large-scale battle with his innovative weapons.

But he knew that if, for any reason, the coalition breached the walls before he could react, Qin would fall before they were even dead.

Jun had planned an unexpected defense that the coalition would not anticipate. Now that he was here, he would determine when to act to provide the assistance needed.

"There are no rules here. We'll kill the generals while they sleep and eliminate their most loyal followers."

It happened in the blink of an eye.

After a brief period of buzzing and dizziness caused by the long journey, a landscape unfolded before them.

Jun composed himself and took in the scene before him.

"A meadow?"

It was an open field.

And atop it stood an indescribably red tent.

Flags bearing the symbol of Jun's army waved in the air, and at least five hundred elite soldiers were stationed in this position.

Further ahead, hills of dust rose violently as the cries of battle pierced the sky.

Jun, dressed in a black combat uniform, gazed upon the battlefield of over half a million men locked in mortal combat.

His calm eyes observed how thousands of men were being slaughtered before him, and he questioned whether this was the best outcome he could achieve.

There was no other way out but to fight to the last breath—at least, that was Qin's response as it faced invasion. As for the others, they were mere oportunists seeking a share of Qin's land and revenge for the invasions they had endured for so long.
