Chapter 1 - Prolouge

"The Crimson Moon", this was a term known to all and would never ever be forgotten by any, it was a day that marked the end of humanity and the beginning of an age of survival and talents.

On that the sky became blood red and in the middle of it stood still a crimson red moon that glowed with an otherworldly light, the world was on a rampage unable to believe what was happening when suddenly distortion in Space began happening and portals later known as Veils appeared.

These Veils were spawned across the world and seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary but suddenly monsters and other high intelligent beings called demons were unleashed on Earth.

Humans seemed to be without a fighting chance and at the mercy of these creatures but it seemed that they hadn't been forsaken by God, the first awakened made an appearance. With immense power had single-handedly fought back against the demons protecting humans from the demons and giving them hope although after this he had vanished like he never existed.

Soon other awakened with Talents believed to be given by God began making an appearance and managed to protect humanity against these creatures for the past hundred years.

Since then humans had began conquering these Veils where the demons resided slaughtering them for two main purpose, the first was for their cores so that they could create powerful weapons and the second was to learn more about these Veils and how they occurred.

"Sir, the amount of Demon earls in the low level Veils are getting out of hand, we already have enough hard time dealing with the Demon nobles... If this keeps up then I'm afraid that we'll have to assign yellow level Veils to C-rank awakened or higher" A lady with purple hair said her round glasses resting on her nose as she stared at the man seated on the opposite side of the table.

The man who had curly black hair sighed as he heard the woman speak, he knew this was a serious issue because it will not only reduce the standard of living for awakened below the C-rank but it will also keep the high rankers who were supposed to deal with higher dungeon levels occupied.

"How many cases of such has been recorded?" The man questioned his voice low as he stared at the purple haired woman, "Only this month we have had a total of three cases, although none of the Veils were linked to another world the dungeon they lead to are being protected by high level demons" The woman replied and upon hearing this the brown-haired man sighed in relief.

He wasn't relaxed at the fact that such cases happened three times a month, no, infact it was a huge loss for the city because of the awakened lost and extra equipment to be used for them rather he was relaxed about the fact that the Veil didn't lead to another world.

Veils were known to be the portals which the demons had appeared from a hundred years ago nothing was known about them until 30 years ago when humans started conquering these Veils.

Normally these Veils would transport Awakened to dungeon like places where a powerful demon with a rank of at least Noble guarded, after killing all the demons in the Veil humans would bring in scientists and such to run tests and collect any strange material or resources found to experiment on.

In some Veils there may be an energy source which the dungeon used to reserve itself so even though all the demons in it are killed the Veil won't disappear rather after ten hours demons will automatically be spawned in them, no one knew the reason behind this phonemena till date but most of these Veils are owned by some Cities, Guilds and Academy's.

While in other Veils that randomly spawn without warning, upon defeating the boss who serves as an energy reserve for the dungeon and then exiting the Veil it automatically close and disappears but then there were Veils which lead to a whole different world or rather realm.

These Veils are regarded as Red and Black colour threat, which meant inevitable death's because they lead to worlds similar to hell where these demons live.

There have only been two such Worlds that the Veils had leaded two and their names were Purgatory and Cocytus, out of a total of fifty B-rank and above hunters that had gone into the Veils only three had come back alive therefore these Veils are being guarded by a powerful organization.

"Haaa... New orders, All Yellow ranked Veils raids should have at least one C-rank awakened in the group before entry" The man said with a sigh as the woman nodded making sure to listen attentively, "Also please do keep me informed if any more Veils with abnormal cases such as these appeared" The man said as the woman nodded hear head in acknowledgement.

"Yes sir, I shall pass your words as they have come" The lady said as she exited the room leaving the man alone in his thoughts.

"I have a feeling that things are about to become worse" The man mumbled as he swayed his chair towards the glass wall looking down at the city.

Meanwhile inisde a small house that had a dim light setting, empty cup-noodles, clothes and other junks could be seen scattered across the whole room with no visible passage.

In the corner of a bed, a young man could be seen laid on the bed with little to no clothes on he seemed to be sleeping when suddenly his phone went off.

"Ugh!" He grunted as his hand reached out for the short desk beside his table and after a while of touching he finally grabbed his phone and picked the call.

"Hello?" The young man answered his voice croaked, "Good Morning, Mr. Julius it's me Ian" Hearing the voice over the phone reply his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Good Morning Mr. Ian I've been waiting patiently for your call for a while now... Found anything yet?" Julius greeted back before questioning Ian a hint of hope clear in his voice.

"Yes Mr. Julius, I called to inform you that I have found a suitable work for you fitting exactly your abilities" The man over the phones said making Julius flash a smile.

"Just meet me later this evening at Canha Coffee shop at Reiner street to discuss it" The man over the phone said leaving Julius in an estatic mood, "Have a good day Mr. Julius" the man greeted before proceeding to hang up the call.

"You too!" Julius said happily as he dropped his phone immediately and raised his body from the bed.

"Time to get busy" Julius mumbled to himself as he glanced at all the junks around the room shaking his head, now the he was in a good mood he had more than enough energy to take care of the room which was something that was really rare.
