Sheng Yan slightly lifted his eyes and saw Jinxia's face in the rearview mirror. Jinxia was looking out the window, a light smile gracing her lips, seemingly in a very good mood and unaffected.
His eyes flickered slightly as he spoke softly, "I will investigate this matter, let's hang up now."
After hanging up the phone, He Jinxia curiously asked, "Was that about something at the company?"
Sheng Yan simply hummed in response.
He Jinxia hesitated, "Would my coming out with you affect your work?"
Sheng Yan smiled gently; with the traffic light turning red ahead, he stopped the car and turned to look at Jinxia, a trace of teasing crossing his eyes.
"Afraid your man will get fired?"
He Jinxia was momentarily lost for words, her eyes watery as she stared at him, and couldn't resist pinching his waist, "Be serious."
The pinch wasn't painful—it felt more like tickling. Sheng Yan casually captured her hand in his, his voice clear and melodious, "It won't."
