Facing the oncoming horde of rats, Thomas swung his longsword without hesitation.
The weapon crafted by dwarf artisans could easily slice through cotton armor and even pierce some inferior-quality iron armor with inadequate material.
However, against opponents only the size of a palm, Thomas's sword swung down without so much as touching a single hair.
Yet the rats were equally unable to reach the knight atop his horse, although they could still attack the warhorse under Thomas, gnawing at its legs.
Upon being attacked, the warhorse quickly descended into panic and stopped moving forward, instead desperately stomping its hooves. Some rats couldn't dodge in time and were gruesomely crushed, their heads and bellies burst open, intestines spilling everywhere, but the remaining rats continued their relentless advance.
Seeing this, Thomas simply jumped down from his horse and chased after the black shadow wrapped in a dark green cloak on foot.
