In the Amazon jungle, Carter still fought fiercely against the robots, even though she had no human allies left.
But there were just too many robots, and they showed no fear of death.
Even with Carter's great strength, she quickly found herself struggling.
Especially when she sliced a robot in half, only to have the bottom half cling to her leg.
In the Marvel Universe, Stark and Spider-Man once said that when fighting Captain America, attacking his lower body was the best strategy.
The same was true for Carter.
With the robot's efforts, more of them soon latched onto her limbs. Eventually, one jumped onto her back and struck her exposed neck with a Taser.
In the end, Captain Carter, like the others controlled by Druig, fell to the ground, convulsing from the shock.
For a brief moment, as the electricity coursed through her, she regained some clarity. But exhaustion quickly overcame her and she lost consciousness.
On the other side, Druig looked at the swarm of robot soldiers surrounding him, his heart filled with despair.
He knew he couldn't escape.
But he didn't want to die. He wasn't going to just sit there and wait for it to happen.
As the tension grew, his mind began to race.
Just like he could control humans, these robots must have someone controlling them too.
If he could take control of the person behind them, he could end it all.
Of course, it wouldn't be easy to find that person among the two billion people on Earth. But he had another option—controlling all of humanity!
It would be extremely difficult, but not impossible.
"No! Kill him now! Use Vibranium weapons!"
Watching the broadcast, Josh noticed the ruthless determination in Druig's expression and immediately ordered the robots to attack.
Almost at the same moment Josh gave the order, Druig unleashed his full power.
A powerful psychic wave spread out, causing nearly every human in the world to enter a dazed state.
Only a few exceptions remained unaffected.
In Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One had been secretly observing Josh and instantly activated magical barriers over Kamar-Taj and the three Sanctums. Because of this, the sorcerers there were shielded from the psychic wave.
Other hidden places like Kunlun, and a handful of people also resisted the effect.
When the wave reached the Margaret, a unique psychic field rose from the ship, blocking it completely.
This was the Psychic Dominator, a superweapon from Yuri's faction. Josh had installed it on the Margaret during its upgrades.
Not only could this superweapon control most living beings like in the games, but it also acted as a powerful defense against psychic attacks.
However, because of its massive size, only large land-based structures or enormous ships like the Margaret, which weighed tens of thousands of tons, could carry it—even in its slightly reduced form.
However, Druig's ability to control minds on a global scale was far beyond what the downsized Psychic Dominator on the Margaret could handle.
Alarms blared across the ship, energy lights flickered wildly, and the power reserves dropped at an alarming rate.
Fortunately, the crew had undergone strict training. The moment the alarms sounded, they rushed to the nearest safe chambers, while the ship's intelligent control system immediately locked down all compartments.
Even if the crew was taken over after the Psychic Dominator's defenses were breached, the AI system would prevent them from causing any major disaster.
In just about a minute, the ship's Psychic Dominator collapsed.
One by one, the crew members fell under Druig's control—including Ophelia, another psychic manipulator.
Only Josh remained unaffected for the moment.
He was equipped with several pieces of psychic defense equipment provided by Yuri.
Even though Druig's mind control abilities surpassed Yuri's, it was impossible to take over Josh immediately.
But it was only a matter of time.
Fortunately, while Druig was unleashing his power, the robots in the Amazon jungle continued to obey Josh's last command.
The standard weapons on the military robots weren't enough to kill an Eternal instantly due to their unique physiology.
However, among the robots surrounding Druig, one specialized unit had been armed with Vibranium weapons supplied by Josh before deployment.
Under their relentless assault, Druig's body was soon gravely injured, even torn apart.
Despite his poor combat ability outside of his powers, his Eternal physiology granted him incredible resilience.
Even with his body in pieces, his brain continued to function for a short time.
Just before Josh lost himself completely to Druig's control, a Vibranium sword pierced through Druig's brain, ending everything.
But right before Josh was taken over, he caught a glimpse of a golden, glowing figure.
However, the moment Druig's brain was destroyed, Josh snapped back to reality and the golden figure instantly vanished.
When Josh regained his senses, he seemed unaware of what had just happened. His attention was immediately drawn to the screen where Druig's dismembered body lay. Without hesitation, he gave the order to retreat.
In an instant, the army of 100,000 robots withdrew like a tide, carrying away everyone who had been controlled—including Carter—as well as Druig's remains.
"No! No! Druig! Damned humans, you will pay for this! My comrades will not let you get away with this!"
Inside the ship, Kingo glared at Josh with bloodshot eyes, cursing angrily as the screen went dark.
"Shh... No, you got it wrong. It's not that I won't be spared by you Eternals—it's that I won't spare you."
Josh stepped forward, lightly shaking the Vibranium chains binding Kingo.
As Kingo screamed in agony, Josh calmly delivered his chilling statement.
