Chapter 5 - The Dmitriv Realm

The Dmitriv realm was a world that housed different races.

Humans, demons, spirit creatures, and Beasts were the ones who had the greatest domination over the Dmitriv realm.

There were other lesser creatures like forest elves, barbarians, and faeries, but those were few and far between and held in a more lower category.

Yet through the Dmitriv realm, a total of five powers stood as unshakeable pillars of might and authority.

They were all referred to as the Five Supreme Sects.

The most powerful of the sects was none other than the Blood Fall Sect, a sect that was majorly controlled by the demon creatures and dominated by the Blood Demons.

They were a symbol of power and held the largest amount of force, as the demons were very much in number compared to the other creatures in the Dmitriv realm.

The second most powerful sect was the Flaming Column Sect, which was primarily controlled by humans adept in the control of flames.

They also held great power and were the picture of strength for the human races.

The third most powerful sect was the Stone Golem Sect, another sect ruled by a special category of demons, the Stone Demons.

They were fewer in number and less active due to the Stone Demons' frequent hibernation, but their powers were still unshakeable and couldn't be ignored.

The fourth sect was the Harmonious Nature Sect.

It was the sect that combined all the lesser races such as faeries, elves, and barbarians with a lot of other smaller species.

They were a peaceful sect that was only concerned with the welfare of the smaller races and had little involvement with the issues of the larger races.

The last sect was none other than the God's Fall Sect, the most reclusive of the sects that had no involvement at all with the outside world.

It was said that the God's Fall Sect was the weakest of the sects, and the only reason why it was even standing at all was due to the fact that it possessed a powerful sect leader who made the other four sects allow its existence.

But it had been less than a few hours when shocking news spread through the entire Dmitriv realm.

The news of three of the sects gathering their various armies and eliminating the God's Fall Sect out of existence.

The reasons why the sect was destroyed were kept a secret, but the rumors that were ongoing suggested that their leader possessed a dangerous artifact capable of bringing forth the destruction of the entire Dmitriv realm, prompting the other sects to attack it and bring about its downfall.

The news sent a mini shockwave through the various races, and what shocked the people was the piece of information that followed next after the announcement of the God's Fall Sect's destruction.

---

The night in the forest was cold and dark, with the moonlight forcing its way through the small gaps that existed in the tall tree canopies.

The various chirping of birds and insects could be heard, and occasionally, various dark shadows flashed around the area like ghosts.

Ghey were none other than small forest demons and beasts looking for prey to hunt down and feast upon.

On top of the largest branches in the forest area sat a young man on one of the tree's highest branches, with dull and cold blue eyes, along with blue hair that gently blew in the breeze.

In his lap were a couple of green-like apple fruits, and in his hands was one which he chewed on silently in the dead of the night.

The person was none other than Lucian, and right now, there were a couple of thoughts in his mind.

The first thing that surged through his mind was the thought of revenge, but eventually, Lucian had been able to calm his head and realized that was a goal that was a little too far from him right now.

He hadn't even officially begun on the path of Arcane, and he was no stronger than an ordinary mortal.

His awakening ceremony was just a few more days from now, and Lucian had been pretty excited, but right now, with the sect having been destroyed, he didn't have that hope any longer.

But if there's one thing he knew, it was who his enemies were.

He knew well of the remaining four sects, and he had seen with his own eyes that it was the Blood Fall Sect, the Flaming Column Sect, and the Golem Sect that had brought about the downfall of his sect.

That was the power he had to destroy if he ever wanted to seek revenge for what had been done to him.

However, he was also well aware of the power that each sect possessed.

They were the rulers of the Dmitriv realm, and their might was beyond Lucian's imagination.

They were a group that couldn't be messed with, especially not by an ordinary mortal like him.

Any sort of revenge plan right now would be futile.

If he dared to show his face right now, he would be killed instantly, so what was the talk of revenge?

He was simply too weak to be even worthy of threat to anyone, and even right now, he had to hide at the tallest tree branch just to avoid becoming food for the little predators that ran down below him.

So right now, while his heart flamed with the desire for revenge, he had to push it down.

What he truly needed right now was a plan for how he would live his life from here onward, and then his revenge plan could follow after.

Right now, he was homeless and an ordinary mortal.

He had no clothes except the ones he was wearing, nor did he have any food or water to survive.

All he had right now was the small fruits among the trees, which did well in satisfying his stomach's growls, but he knew well he couldn't continue like this forever.

He had to find a way to improve his standard of living..
