"Ma'am, did you see Molly this afternoon?"
"We can't find her anywhere and the reception is quickly filling with patients who wish to see you."
Those were the first two things Kelsie heard when she opened the door of her office that evening.
The elderly janitors stood before her, cradling their cleaning materials with the most confused looks on their faces.
Kelsie forced a smile as she stepped out and closed the door behind her.
"Molly won't be coming back." Though she was smiling as she walked past them, there was nothing in her tone to assure them everything was alright.
However, Kelsie didn't seem to be in the mood to speak with anyone, so they asked no questions and quietly went back to work.
That day, Kelsie worked as her own receptionist, doctor, assistant, and nurse.
Before six in the evening, she changed the OPEN sign to CLOSED and dismissed the staff.
She had just turned to return to her office when a knock sounded on the door.
