"So you're still going on about that whole-time talent or whatever?" Ivory asked while taking a bite of food.
"I can see it clearly in my soul; it has to be true. If it really is something else, I need to know about it anyway." Alfie commented.
By this time, a week had already passed since Alfie and Ivory went out to look for the other lord, to instead find Ambrosia.
It was during that week that Ambrosia was able to get used to seeing such a lively settlement.
Unlike her own settlement, which had only included her, Alfie's consisted of nearly two thousand by now.
"You know, you don't have to always cook dinner. We can take turns." Alfie offered.
"And let you guys cook? Like hell, I would." Ambrosia said disdainfully.
Having just finished cooking Fawn's meal, she sat down to enjoy her home-cooked meal in the lord's dining room.
"That I can stand by; you are one hell of a chef." Ivory complimented while licking his lips.
"Thanks for the meal, Amb!!" Fawn exclaimed with a smile.
"Anything for my little cutie." Ambrosia pinched her cheeks.
"Speaking of which, your one-month timer is about to end, right?" Alfie asked.
Ambrosia paused momentarily, thinking back on her living situation in the main universe.
"Yeah, it's tomorrow." She confirmed.
"Oh, you've been keeping track?" Alfie asked.
"You don't need to. You just kinda know when it's close." Ivory butted in.
"Isn't that just your talent?" Alfie asked.
"Nope. You see that a one-month timer isn't just for show, alright? It's the average time it takes for you to officially create an anchor of sorts." Ivory went on.
"Okay, well anyway, since you'll be going back, I figured that you'll want to be paid and all. So while I don't have money at this current moment, I got you something for the time being." Alfie explained.
Reaching into his interdimensional pocket, he pulled out a simple black ring.
"I know it doesn't look like much, but if you go to any government office on your planet, you can ask for your salary," Alfie explained.
"You want me to go to a government building? Don't you have a number I could call or something?" Ambrosia asked.
Alfie took a moment to look through his memories to see if such a thing did exist, and while it did indeed unless someone had special privileges, they'd simply be routed to another call.
"For now, no. But trust me, any government office, and they'll give you the money." Alfie assured.
Although unsure, she decided to trust her employer. Despite having only known him for a week, she was at least confident he wouldn't be scamming her of any money.
If there was anything she had learned from watching his daily summons, the least of her employer's worries was money.
All things considered, she had started to accept this place as her second home. She had a clean and tidy bedroom, plenty of water to bathe, and enough food to feed a family for a year.
The past week had been nothing short of luxury compared to the cold, sickly days in the mud shack.
In reality, she would've rather stayed here forever, but leaving was a must after the one-month mark.
Despite her worries for tomorrow, she didn't let anyone notice. While she had indeed gotten closer with Alfie, Ivory, and Fawn, they still weren't that close yet.
In the end, she simply chose to enjoy the atmosphere of the night. Alfie and Ivory were always bickering with each other, acting like a pair of brothers.
Fawn always remained attentive to her meal, ignoring the talkative pair. As for herself, she always enjoyed her meal in silence, only occasionally dropping in on the conversation.
It was a peaceful night.

The shift from the origin to the main universe is a harsh experience for the first time.
Unlike the spiritually rich origin, most regions of the main universe hold only about twenty to fifty percent of the regular concentration of spiritual energy.
The experience is almost akin to that of getting a migraine; it's harsh and very mentally taxing.
However, with enough rest, any normal lord will get used to the sudden drop in spiritual concentration.
Currently, Ambrosia was going through that same ordeal, only this time she didn't have the support most others would.
Although bearable, her head was stinging with a sharp pain. She sat down on the floor of her abandoned old childhood home, clutching her head.
Ambrosia didn't know how many hours, minutes, or even seconds it took, but the pain began to subside.
It was also at that time she realized just how hungry she was. Despite having eaten a hearty breakfast in the origin, she felt starved.
Picking herself up from the ground, she took some time for her legs to reawaken from sitting for so long.
She didn't dwell on reminiscing about the ruins of her old home, for it was something she had already accepted.
At the moment, she was focused on getting to the government office in the middle of the city. Which just so happened to be a long walk from the outskirts in which she was in.

Back in the origin, Alfie was meditating under a tree, focusing on digesting the 16 years of memory that he had forgotten.
It was only then that a curious soul spoke from above.
"What exactly did you give Ambrosia, by the way?" Ivory asked.
"It's just an authority ring I had lying around. Once she enters any government office, any A.I. system it has installed will recognize her as someone important." Alfie explained.
"So you gave her a glorified VIP ring?" Ivory asked.
"No, I didn't have anything that cheap. To put it into terms, that specific ring has authority equivalent to an owner of a star cluster." Alfie corrected.
"And you just have that lying around somewhere because?" Ivory asked.
"I just really liked that ring. I've had it since I was like ten or something." Alfie informed.
"Spoiled brat." Ivory sighed.

The walk was long—far too long for someone who had just recovered from a migraine. But despite that, she carried on, praying that her employer hadn't lied to her.
By the time she had actually arrived, she was a glorified mess of sweat and pain. She wanted nothing more than to grab her cash and book a nice hotel to relax in.
Despite her simple request, luck simply wasn't on her side. Like most cities, there always stood the pompous and rich, who walked with arrogance.
And as luck would have it, the most insufferable ones had shown up to arrive at the only government office.
It was Lucas, the son of a 3-star lord, who had shown up today with an army of his goons to announce his love for the governor's daughter.
The entrance was rowdy with romantic music and bundles of flowers for his love. Despite that, it was common knowledge that the governor's daughter was lesbian.
All in this day and age, this arrogant second generation was quite the regressive fellow.
Feeling her patience finally run thin, she decided to walk through the crowd, annoyed at how such a ruckus could occur in the middle of the city.
"Yo, is that girl actually tryna get in the way of this?"
"Someone call the cops, man, it's about to get ugly."
"Like that'd do anything; you know they're all afraid of his dad, right?"
"Stupid shit man, I swear."
Though only whispered, she could hear them all; in fact, she could even guess the thoughts of those who didn't voice them out loud.
In the end, that didn't matter to her, though; the headache, the hunger, the clamor of it was all too much.
Just as she reached the entrance, a hand grabbed onto her shoulder.
Without even needing to look, she knew who it was.
"You really think a no-name bitch like you can just walk through my shit without permission?" He scoffed.
"It's a public road, dipshit; you don't own it." She replied.
"Now go fuck off before your daddy has to come down here with a healer for your ass." She provoked.
Shoving his hand off her shoulder, she proceeds to bitch slap him across the face before making her way through into the office building.
"Holy shit she's got balls of steel, dude."
"Hold up, wait, did anyone record that right now?"
"Ong I did. Lemme upload it. This shits about to go viral."
In the middle of the crowd, the once proud Lucas, stood humiliated. For never once in his life had he been disrespected to such a level.
In fact, it made him excited about the opportunity he had to finally let loose for once.
He'd make that bitch's life a living hell.
