Chu Yan looked at him innocently, his usual cold expression replaced by a hint of concern.
He sniffed the cup and then realized.
"Why does it smell like chili peppers? Who put hot sauce in it?"
Chu Yan furrowed his brow and apologized to Nan Xian, "I'm sorry, I really didn't know there was hot sauce in it. Shall I pour you another glass?"
"No, no need!"
Nan Xian hastily declined and rushed to the restroom to rinse his mouth.
Chu Yan's expression turned cold soon after Nan Xian left.
Since Qin Zhao was chatting with Su Xiaotong, she didn't notice what had happened. When she turned her head and saw that Nan Xian was not at his seat, she asked,
"Where is Nan Xian? Why isn't he here?"
Chu Yan's eyes darkened as he leisurely sipped his soup.
"I don't know."
Qin Zhao stood up and looked around the restaurant.
Chu Yan slowly sipped his soup, glancing at her indifferently.
"Why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?"
