Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 26 - THE HOLD OF EVIL

Back at the party, the students went on merry making without a care, they had been held up for years and finally been set free.

"Kaina's been gone long. Should we get him?"

"Ay, the boy said he needed sometime to himself we should let him have that. Rough night for him you know." Kiriku replied Khay.

"Kiriku, Kaina is part of us now, you should be much concerned."

"Sorry boss."

"Khay is right though, I don't think it's ideal to leave someone in his situation alone for too long. At best he may need another voice to his thoughts."

"Right?" Khay exclaimed.

Mira couldn't help but notice Lilith hadn't contributed, seeing as she was one to concern herself with the wellbeing of others.

"Lily, why so quiet?" she said, concerned. Lilith seemed off, her seemingly cheerful smile had vanished.

"You alright Lil." Khay asked.

"I don't know. I feel…" she faintly said, drawing the attention of her friends. "I feel… off" she grazed her hands at the sides of her arms.

"Maybe she's cold. Like Ingrid was." Kiriku commented, then, Khay, out of care, removed his suit on put it over her. Suddenly, an ominous presence enveloped the hall; a choking presence and heavy darkness, Khay, Lui, Han, Amine, Lilith, Mira, Kiriku and Ingrid all responded with eyes widened and shocked expressions.

"What the hell was that?!" Kiriku jerked.

"I think…" Lilith softly let out. "I have a headache." Putting her hand to her forehead as she stood beside Khay.

"Did you guys… feel that? Amine alerted.

"Yeah." Han responded.

"What are you guys going about?" Trilith who couldn't pick up the change in the atmosphere inquired.

The ominous presence hit again and this time, the glass windows to the mansion broke and scattered inwards to the students; debris of glass shards flew around as the students took cover. A few seconds had passed and nothing had followed after the glass shattered. The students stood out, haven been halted in their merrymaking.

"Did anyone feel that?" one student asked from the crowd.

"I think it came from outside."

"Hey let's go see what it was." Another cried out.

"Are you crazy, that thing just reminded me of a nightmare I had weeks ago. It can't be good."

"Whatever, I'm going to see." The student persisted. And he managed to win over a few brave others. The students had rallied behind those that were ahead and had clouded the only entrance and exit of the giant hall.

Bone chilling screams travelled across the hall from the gate and five students went flying through the air and back into the hall.

The members of the Blue Peacock caught them before they could hit the ground and sustain further damage.

"IT'S KAINAAA!!!" one of the male students screamed, alerting everyone in the hall. And they all took off in different directions for safety.

"He's come to kill us."

Kaina stood in the middle of the door, obstructing the only exit and entrance, seemingly lifeless. He seemed to be looking at the ceiling but there was almost no light in his eyes, he just wasn't there. His face had darkened and his skin bore a hue of dark purple. Veins could be seen underneath his skin, visible enough to have made lines on his face.

"Kaina!" Khay exclaimed haven pushed his way to the front with the others. "What… what happened to you?"

"No… stop it." Kaina faintly and unconsciously let out. "Let's…show…"

"This doesn't look good." Lilith said. Tugging over Khay's suit that was covering her.

"Everyone!" Mira exclaimed. And the room fell silent of screams and panicking. "Remain calm. Ingrid. Step back to safety and protect them at all costs."

"Kiriku." Amine called. "Go with her, make sure everyone is safe. I charge you with this." And Ingrid and Kiriku did as commanded and gathered the students and went away from the scene to the farthest corners of the hall.

"Kaina! Kaina! Honcho!" It was Kai. "Honcho" he arrived at the scene with the rest of the Blue Peacocks and Raggard Ramparts.

"I don't know what's wrong with him but he clearly isn't himself." A feminine voice spoke. It belonged to a girl who couldn't have been older than Lilith. She had a fair and dainty skin tone. She wore a straight black dress, golden earrings and had brown hair that was tied up in and up-do and held together by a pin that went through the end horizontally.

"Evy." Amine called out. "I haven't seen you all evening, thought you didn't make it."

"I was taking a look around the mansion, until I heard screams, I rushed to come check what it was and look what we have."

"Kaina…" Yegan exhaled softly.

"Show… them… Let's… show…" Kaina's coarse yet subtle voice lamented. He seemed dazed and had yet to attack or make a move on anyone.

"Amine." Yegan cried out.

"No." He quickly responded. "I know what you're thinking. And I won't agree to it. You were going to say that, this is the Blue Peacocks issue so you'd want to handle it yourselves right?"

"How did you… I guess you're right."

"I'd want to do the same thing if I was in your shoes, and believe me when I say I understand, but as it stands now, I don't think you guys can handle this one on your own."

"Amine." Hodgard called. "I know he said we and the Raggard Ramparts are one now. But this burden is ours to bare."

"Listen to him." Khay sternly replied. "Amine and I have both fought Kaina time and time again, but this time, he does seem…dangerous. Something is off. I'm not saying you guys can't take him on your own, but, if you do, you won't come out in one whole piece."

"That's a sacrifice we're willing to make." Ohga replied.

"What is going on here?" A voice resounded. "Kaina!" They all turned their attention to the voice. It was Yousef, he was atop one of the balconies. And he beheld the scene from there. "What is all this?" but there was no reply. Immediately, he rushed down the stair case that laid about four meters away from the door; where Kaina stood. And upon seeing him up close, he was stricken with fear and it stopped him in his tracks. Right in front of everyone that had arrived before him. He gleamed back and over his shoulder to the rest of the Blue Peacock members, then to the rest of the Raggard Ramparts, then to Khay, Lilith, Trilith, Amine, Han and Lui, Mira, Ingrid, , Kiriku and scoffed. Then turned his attention back to Kaina.

"Youse-"

"Can it!" he cut off Yegan and ignored him. Then; "Kaina…" he turned back to him "I know… we have to talk. I accept I didn't handle things well. But we can talk things over." He moved closer and closer to him as he spoke and finally when he was close enough to touch him, he placed his hands over Kaina left shoulder. "I'm sure we can come to an understanding. Certainly one that doesn't concern these trashy lot." He turned around and with a smirk; gleamed at them.

Then suddenly, a subtle sizzle could be heard.

"N…no…" Kaina faintly cried out. Yousef quickly jerked away his hand, he held it tight with the other hand at wrist, as if stopping blood from flowing down into his arms as if he had been poisoned, his teeth; hard pressed in his attempt to hide the pain. He had been burnt, and the sharp pain made him pull away his hand. He stared at Kaina in disbelief "How could he have done this?" he thought to himself. But Kaina was still out of it, the light in his eyes could hardly be seen.

"Yousef." Yegan called.

"I think you should step away prince." Evy sarcastically cheeked.

Then, before Yousef could find a smart come back, something else caught his attention and everyone else's. Kaina's silky purple suit, the top he wore began to slowly burn away, both the suit and the shirt he wore underneath. Sudden sweat trickled down Yousef's face and he struggled to keep his eyes fully open as heat enveloped him. Then a sudden pillar of fire burst from Kaina and shot directly upwards, tearing its way through the cemented ceiling and into the sky.
