One week later
Ares was in one of his office rooms, going through the financial reports for his business when he heard a knock on his door.
He had been so immersed in his work, he barely ate or even slept.
It was all a ploy to push the confusion in his head away, and so far, it had worked.
There were only a few people he assumed would be at the door.
Either Chloe who needed attention, or Xander to discuss more business.
Not even the princess who he thought would have given him some updated report, had come around.
"Come in," he called, and the door quickly pushed open.
He continued to surf through his emails, but the second the intruder's scent saturated round the office, his pulse raced.
Lifting his head, he saw Angel come towards him.
For a moment there, his head went completely blank..
He just stared at her like she was some puzzling mystery.
"Hey," she said, and smiled.
