Jotaro and Kira, after their conversation at the temple, began their return to the village. As they walked, Jotaro couldn't stop thinking about the idea Kira had suggested: to show up at the village without the cloaking spell that hid his ears and tail, thus revealing his true identity as a demigod.
Kira's idea isn't bad... It would just be presenting myself as I am and nothing more, Jotaro thought. However, imagining the situation, he realized that suddenly appearing could be dangerous.
I understand Kira wanting people to know I'm okay, but... If that man reacts so extremely to just touching my hand, how will the others react? Will they attack me? She thought, dismissing the idea.
It was then that he remembered that they had left Kira in charge of guarding the corpse of the ogre that he, Aiko and Kira had defeated.
-Hi, Kira.
"What's wrong, Jotaro?" Kira asked.
-If I remember correctly, Aiko and I left you in charge of the ogre's corpse, didn't we?
Hearing this, Kira stopped immediately and her expression turned nervous.
"Could you explain to me why you're here and not in charge of the ogre's corpse?" Jotaro asked with a smile.
"Promise me you won't get angry?" Kira said, avoiding his gaze.
Jotaro, feeling that his friend had done something reckless, stopped himself and sighed.
-Okay, I promise I won't get mad.
-Actually?
-Yeah.
-Actually?
-I told you yes, didn't I?
Kira swallowed and confessed:
-Well...the truth is...I quit.
-Was it because a monster stronger than you appeared or...?
"I just left because I wanted to go with you," Kira interrupted.
Jotaro smiled, even though inside he felt an immense need to hit her.
"I understand," he said, keeping his smile.
"Really?" Kira asked, surprised by the lack of reproach.
Damn, Kira... Have you forgotten how difficult it was to kill that clever ogre? Jotaro thought as he took a deep breath.
-Hi, Kira.
-What's up, Jotaro?
-Don't you think you should check if the body is still there?
-I guess so... Maybe other monsters ate it.
"No? Then go and bring him back to the village!" Jotaro exclaimed as he pushed her toward the forest.
-Hey, why are you pushing me?!
Kira turned to see Jotaro's expression and realized that his smile was hiding his anger. Without a second thought, she ran off.
-I'm going to look for the body!
Jotaro sighed and decided to head to the village.
Upon arriving, he saw the villagers repairing the houses destroyed by the monster attack. As he walked among them, he felt guilty.
If I hadn't left, maybe this wouldn't have happened..., he thought sadly. He should do something to cheer them up, but what?
Three children ran past him and crashed into him.
-We are so sorry!
"It's okay, it was my fault for getting in the way," Jotaro said with a smile.
-Anyway, we're sorry.
The children kept running.
-Hurry up, or we'll be late for my brother's party!
A party... Jotaro thought. That's it! We'll have a celebration.
But soon another question arose: how to inform everyone?
I could have Kira appear before them wearing the demigods' clothes, so they would assume that the demigod Jotaro is also here... But Kira isn't. Aiko is my only option, though she doesn't even know I'm a demigod... and I don't know where she is either.
He sighed. I guess I'll have to wait for Kira to return. For now, he decided to look for Aiko.
Meanwhile, Kira arrived at the spot where the ogre's corpse had been left. Three orcs were devouring it.
"What do you think you're doing?" she shouted angrily.
One of the orcs turned and advanced toward her, but Kira punched him in the abdomen so hard that he was thrown into the trees. The other two, terrified, fled.
"Where do you think you're going? Come back here!" he shouted, but the orcs had already disappeared into the undergrowth.
Meanwhile, Jotaro continued searching for Aiko until he heard her voice calling him.
-Jotaro!
He turned around and saw Aiko running towards him.
-Aiko! Where were you?
I'm... taking a walk.
Jotaro noticed that she was sweating.
-Why do you look tired?
-It must be the heat, hehe- she replied nervously.
"Well, I guess you're right, it is hot," Jotaro said.
"I'm sure you do," Aiko said with a smile.
I can't believe Jotaro's been a demigod all this time..., Aiko thought, remembering Jotaro and Kira's conversation at the temple.
-Send.
- Eh? Yes, Jotaro?
Are you okay? You seem a little confused.
-Yes, yes, I'm fine, what did you want to tell me?
"Well, I wanted to ask if you wanted to join me for a walk around town since Kira went to retrieve the ogre's corpse," Jotaro asked.
-Of course.
-Well, let's go.
Together, they began walking while watching the villagers rebuild their homes. As Jotaro and Aiko walked through the village, Aiko sadly watched as they repaired their homes.
"It's a shame what happened to these people, isn't it?" Jotaro said, with a sad tone in his voice.
"Yes..." Aiko replied without taking her eyes off the villagers.
-I'd like to do something to cheer them up.
"I'd like to do something to cheer them up. I'd like to help them in some way," Aiko said.
As they walked, Aiko remembered Jotaro and Kira's conversation.
If I recall correctly, Jotaro plans to introduce himself to the villagers as the demigod Jotaro to cheer them up. Perhaps it's a way to cheer them up a bit, since the villagers seem to worship him.
Suddenly, shouts broke the murmur of the place. Jotaro, alert to the sounds, watched as people began to flee, dropping their tools and abandoning what they were doing. Aiko, alarmed, asked:
- What's going on!
"Aiko, watch out!" Jotaro shouted before running towards her.
In the blink of an eye, Jotaro covered her with his body, just in time to prevent the wooden planks, dragged by an enormous force, from hitting her violently.
"Are you okay?" Jotaro asked with concern.
-Y-yes, I think so- Aiko replied, still in shock.
Jotaro quickly sat up and looked around, trying to understand what was happening. The villagers were still fleeing in panic, and chaos was spreading like wildfire.
"What's going on? Why are people running away?" he wondered aloud, turning his head to find the answer.
When Jotaro turned around, he saw three orcs running in his direction and wondered, "What? Why are there two orcs in the village? Were there any monsters left?"
Suddenly, just as Jotaro was about to draw his sword, Kira appeared behind the orcs, dragging the corpse of an ogre. Jotaro, seeing Kira running after the orcs, exclaimed in surprise:
-Think?!
Suddenly, Kira said:
-Stop running, you damn orcs!!!!
Just as he spoke those words, he threw the ogre's corpse towards the orcs with such force that it caused a great cloud of dust, enveloping the scene in a pall of chaos and confusion.
