Raelynn stirred beneath the plush blankets, her body sinking deeper into the warmth of the bed before she slowly blinked her eyes open. For a moment, she simply lay there, her gaze fixed on the ceiling, her mind still tangled in the lingering traces of her dream.
A good dream.
She smiled.
It wasn't often that she woke up feeling this light, this content. A sense of warmth lingered deep in her chest, as if remnants of the dream still wrapped around her like a comforting embrace.
But it wasn't entirely good.
Raelynn's smile faltered for a split second as the last moments of the dream tried to resurface. Something about it had shifted toward the end—something she didn't quite like.
Why dwell on that part? The rest of it had been good.
She shifted onto her side, her hand unconsciously reaching for her belly. A soft chuckle left her lips as she whispered, "Well, at least you behaved last night."
