Chapter 262 - Chapter 262: The Second Fragmented Map

Chapter 262: The Second Fragmented Map

After acquiring the Green Wood Origin Tree seeds and the Equilibrium Fruit, Lin Langtian was fairly content with the harvest from the Myriad Elephants City auction. The hundreds of Green Wood Origin Tree seeds, if properly cultivated, could create a forest in his miniature world inside the mirror, allowing him to advance the second level of the Wood Emperor's Triple Cultivation Technique. Just these seeds alone had given him a powerful hidden advantage.

As for the Equilibrium Fruit, if it helped Su Rou control the spiritual power within her, it would mean a significant asset for the Yan Alliance. Su Rou's potential was outstanding, and assuming her future followed the same trajectory, she might still join the esteemed Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace. For Lin Langtian, she was a valuable ally worthy of cultivation.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the coliseum surged with excitement again following the bidding war over the Equilibrium Fruit. The next item to be auctioned was a lower-level spiritual martial art technique, one highly attractive to most of the powerful warriors in attendance. The starting bid alone quickly climbed to a hefty 1.5 million Nirvana pills.

Such lower-tier techniques, however, held little interest for Lin Langtian, and he made no attempt to compete. While he stayed silent, bids erupted in the audience:

"1.6 million!"

"1.8 million!"

After fierce bidding, the technique finally went to a higher-ranked dynasty that had fought hard for it, purchasing it for 2.3 million Nirvana pills. The bidding frenzy eased up momentarily but was expected to intensify with each successive item.

Following several more successful bids, Song Tai reached for one of the final glowing items hovering in the air before him, grinning as he announced, "Next up, we have something rather unusual. Even I am not entirely sure of its purpose, but I suspect it resembles some form of ancient treasure map."

Holding up a tattered and aged scrap of cloth, he displayed it for all to see.

"Huh?" A ripple of confusion spread through the audience, as murmurs filled the room.

Noticing the questioning looks, Song Tai maintained his calm, indifferent expression. He explained, "Though I couldn't fully decipher the secrets of this ancient fragment, I suspect it to be part of a map, judging by the faint markings on it. Who knows what treasures it could reveal? Perhaps even something that could shake the entire continent."

Some attendees exchanged skeptical looks, stifling laughter. Were it not for Song Tai's reputable status, many might have openly scoffed.

But not everyone was indifferent. Lin Langtian's eyes narrowed as he carefully observed the torn map fragment. His fingers tapped thoughtfully on the stone armrest as he recalled the similar map fragment he had in his mirror world, one that had been deciphered by the Devouring Ancestral Symbol and verified as a relic of one of its former owners.

The Devouring Ancestral Symbol was one of the eight fabled symbols of the Tianxuan Continent, and its previous owner would have been a figure of immense power. That this fragmented map had surfaced here in the Ancient Battlefield suggested its creator might have been a powerful ancient figure. Though warriors of the ancient past were not always mightier than modern-day cultivators, those who left behind a legacy were undeniably exceptional.

Feeling an intense thrill at the prospect, Lin Langtian resolved to acquire this fragment.

Seeing the lukewarm reception in the audience, Song Tai called out, "The starting bid for this fragment is 1.5 million Nirvana pills."

The arena fell silent. Many attendees shook their heads in disbelief. Who would risk 1.5 million Nirvana pills on an unknown, ancient scrap that might turn out to be worthless?

Song Tai remained calm, unsurprised by the hesitant atmosphere. While he wasn't privy to the map's true origins, he knew it was not ordinary. He was ready to keep it for his collection if the crowd chose not to bid.

After almost three minutes of silence, Song Tai prepared to call off the sale, when a voice rang out:

"1.5 million."

Lin Langtian's calm announcement broke the silence, drawing curious glances toward the young man seated near the front. Some muttered among themselves, marveling at the audacity of the new Heavenly-ranked powerhouse.

"Does this guy have an endless supply of Nirvana pills?" murmured one observer.

Feng Cang of the Fengyun Dynasty turned to glance at Lin Langtian, a hint of contempt in his gaze. Though Lin Langtian was already marked for death, Feng Cang couldn't help but feel a strange wariness seeing him bid on the mysterious fragment.

But he quickly dismissed his concerns. In his mind, Lin Langtian was as good as dead, and if this map fragment held any real secrets, they could simply claim it from him later. There was no point in wasting resources on a bidding war now.

With Feng Cang refraining from interference and other bidders reluctant to challenge Lin Langtian, no one else offered a higher bid. Thus, the fragmented map was successfully secured by Lin Langtian without further competition.
