Hakuto didn't argue with Nao for too long. After all, they had gone through quite a bit just to get some time alone—it wasn't meant for bickering.
"So, what's going on with Ayumi?"
"You told me to keep an eye on her, didn't you…?" Nao placed a chocolate stick in her mouth. "According to that guy, Otosaka Yuu, Ayumi has caught a cold recently."
"If she's sick, she should stay home and rest… not run around all over the place."
"You… Did you predict something again?"
"I'm not a god." Hakuto took the box of chocolate sticks from Nao's pocket, pulled one out, and put it in his mouth.
"The best course of action would be for Otosaka Yuu to take away Ayumi's ability."
"Didn't you say this wasn't your decision to make…?"
"That was before…" Hakuto suddenly flashed a mischievous smile.
"Since Otosaka Shunsuke won't come to me, I'll just go to him."
"Huh? Let me make this clear—I'm not leading you there. Even if I did, I wouldn't be able to get past the front gate."
"No need. I can find my way, and Otosaka Shunsuke wouldn't dare stop me."
"Hah? What makes you so confident?"
"He's afraid I'll tear down his entire base."
Even though Otosaka Shunsuke hadn't seen Hakuto rip apart metal walls with his bare hands, he probably had some idea of what Hakuto was capable of.
Besides, Otosaka Shunsuke had no reason to stop Hakuto. In fact, he was probably hoping Hakuto would come knocking.
Nao glanced at Hakuto but didn't say anything. Instead, she silently snatched the chocolate stick from his hand.
God knows how many of her chocolate sticks he had taken by now. Even if he were stealing lighters, he wouldn't have taken this many!
"So, I just keep watching Ayumi?" Nao asked. But Hakuto seemed to ignore her and continued speaking on his own.
"Nao, does the student council have any means of transportation?"
"Hah? Are you even listening to me?"
"I'm listening, I'm listening…"
"And what do you need a vehicle for?" Nao thought for a moment. "I think the student council has a motorcycle, but can you even ride one?"
"With my computational ability, my riding skill is EX-tier!"
He wasn't wrong. With his super-calculation ability, he could learn to ride anything—motorcycles, fighter jets, you name it.
Not to mention, in his previous life, he already knew how to ride a motorcycle.
"That may be true, but why do you need a vehicle?"
"To find Otosaka Shunsuke, obviously. I just told you, didn't I?"
Hearing that, Nao looked at Hakuto in disbelief, then glanced outside the window.
"Hah? Right now?"
"Yeah, right now."
"No way, I haven't even eaten yet." Nao shook her head. She didn't have the energy to go along with Hakuto's craziness.
At the very least, she wanted to wait until tomorrow.
"Well then, let's eat first! I'll treat, and you pay."
"You bastard…"
And so, after some coaxing, Nao finally agreed to accompany Hakuto.
Not that she was completely against it—she just thought it wasn't necessary.
"Let's get this straight. If we run into traffic police, just say we're from the neighboring Toyonozaki."
"The student council president should be able to handle it, right? Our school has some political connections, after all."
At his current age, Hakuto would definitely get stopped by the traffic police for riding a motorcycle.
Worse yet, he didn't have a license, and he was carrying a passenger.
If they got caught, they'd probably be taken to the station for a nice cup of tea and a phone call home.
Not that Hakuto had parents anyway. Actually, not having parents had its perks—at least he was immune to the insult "your mom."
Inside Hoshino Academy's storage room, Nao took out a key and unlocked the door.
"This is the school's storage. I remember seeing a motorcycle here last time…"
As the student council president, Nao naturally had the keys to the storage room.
After all, in Japan, student councils had significant authority, and the president even more so.
That said, Nao wasn't exactly a successful president. Lately, she had been dealing with groups of students ganging up on her.
Although Hakuto had already taken care of that problem for her.
"Oh, found it." Nao walked to the center of the storage room, pulled off the cloth covering the motorcycle, and revealed a sleek, jet-black bike.
"Uh… President…"
"What?"
"You're calling this a motorcycle?"
"Hm? Isn't it a motorcycle?"
"Well… technically, I guess."
Right in front of Hakuto was an insanely cool machine.
Jet-black design. Flawless curves. Even without starting it up, he could already imagine the roar of its engine!
"This is amazing…"
"Hah? What are you getting so excited about?"
"You don't get it, President."
Even though Hakuto loved money, at his core, he was still a man. And as a man, how could he not be interested in motorcycles?
The only downside was the price. But now? He was about to get one for free!
"President… this bike…"
"What about it?"
"Well, do I have permission to use it?"
"Hah? What's with that hesitant tone? I thought you were going to say something serious."
Nao had rarely seen Hakuto looking so unsure of himself. If she didn't know better, she'd think he was constipated.
"Here, take it." She tossed the key to him.
"Huh? Just like that?"
"It's not a big deal. Just don't mess with anything else in the storage."
Hakuto was stunned. He had only been joking about getting it for free, but Nao actually had the power to make it happen!
When a big talker meets a woman with real authority… this must be what it looks like.
"In that case… let's go!" Hakuto eagerly grabbed two helmets.
He put one on himself and then helped Nao with hers.
"Let me confirm one last time—you really know how to ride, right?"
"Relax. If I die, I'll make you the beneficiary of my life insurance."
"…And what about mine?"
"Naturally, you'd put my name on yours."
The moment those words left his mouth, Nao felt the temperature around her drop.
For some reason, she had a bad feeling… like Hakuto might just crash on purpose for the payout.
