Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: POWER

"It is a well know fact that to everyone in the Zade kingdom that before one's body can handle the power of a beast he or she has tamed there must be an integration between the beast tamer and the beast in question, a sense of harmony that is unified by shared values or a contract. However before one can grasp such a realm as the beast tamer, the tamer must be proficient in the control of mana. Mana is a form of energy that grants power to both animate and inanimate things it is with mana that one that can reach such a realm",

Mr. Burg goes through the usual basic knowledge that is embedded into the hearts of every tamer. After all in this world there exist only two things that one must strive to attain.

It is either you fall or you rise.

You live or you choose to die.

Either you choose to survive or you fall not just at the hands of magical beast, no, even humans of the same kind would not hesitate to sacrifice each other for the sake of earning more power for themself.

"Mr. Clyde can I bore your still active train of thought for a moment",

The teacher calls out to a particular young student among the class, he is particular in this case since he is the only one whose attention is elsewhere. Clyde drives his attention back to the subject at hand. As much as he knows the full name of the man before him which is Van de Burg, a man not known for only his power but his intelligence. He he is a middle-aged man well groomed in every manner, his total appealing look sets him apart from most of the other teachers since he is of royal blood. He points his stretched hand in Clyde's direction as an order to stand, humbly and nervously as he is he obliges.

"Were you sleeping in MY class young man?",

He heavily emphasizes on the "MY" word even though there is no air of anger or disdain from him. His entire self seem like nothing as if he is present yet absent.

"No Sir Burg, I was wrapping my head around some theoretical things so hard that I lost focus",

Clyde answered even though the thing he said to Mr. Marg in a way is true while in another direction too is a lie. There is a slight smirk on Burg's face, one that makes Clyde feel uneasy. Mr. Burg's eyes try to pierce through him but he evades his gaze, his smirk fades away.

"Liar"

One of the students say amidst the silent tension soon some follow up with a snide remarks.

"Final boss of losers",

Clyde hears one say which doesn't bother me at all. He somewhat led out a smirk since these comments would keep Mr. Burg from his back.

"Lowly orphan",

Someone says and this Clyde steers his head in the direction of the voice, it is a female not an ordinary one at that she is also a noble one which he can't offend because he is a commoner with no background. He clenches his fist at this the feeling of being powerless, this is something that he hates but can't do anything about.

"Control your anger",

Mr. Burg's said. Strangely enough his emotions settle as he fells no reason to be mad at the words of these people who know nothing of him yet belittle everything he does. Clyde bows lightly and apologize to Mr. Burg who still looks nonchalant as ever.

"Even if you are a commoner with a pitiful level of mana control remember to never lose yourself to anger or even fear",

Mr. Burg said, his method of comforting Clyde seems to be much like uttering the plain truth without any silver lining ahead.

"Geez, thanks",

His manner of speaking flatly about facts is one that tells everyone that he is a bad pep talk giver. He gestured Clyde to take his seat. Within the next few moments class ends everyone leaves with Clyde as the sole exception since Mr. Burg told him to wait behind. He stands in front of the class door with his hands folded behind his back and a stern expression on his face, the first time he had shown any emotion since Clyde had known him.

"You must control yourself young man or else one day you might live to regret it",

He said bringing his emotions back to normal, he produces a blue vial that one can sense the purest essence of mana from it. The thing within his grasp is a mana essence, a rare item that can be made from the life force of beasts with an incredible amount of mana, something like this is the only reason why very few commoners can exceed the expectations and rival those with royal blood.

"You are still stuck at the first stage of mana control but with this your control should reach their level",

He stretches his hand forward in an attempt to hand over the vial to Clyde. He, Clyde stands still unmoved by the temptation to grow stronger with the help of a royal no less. He doesn't want to be anyone's pet and do dirty works for the Vans( the family of Professor Burg).

"Why would someone of royal blood help a commoner like me. Even if it helps and I grow stronger what benefit would you gain?",

Clyde expected him to get angry and perhaps even attack him out from his anguish, instead he forces the vial into his pocket. Taking a keen observation from Burg's face there is a smile.

"I want you to survive"

He says.
