Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: I'll Play a Game

An hour and a half later, Jun An had finished selecting the supplies Seele created—a month's worth, plus a pile of toys to relieve boredom.

Incidentally, Jun An also had Seele use her Herrscher of Life and Death powers to help restore his Stigmata Space. A pleasant surprise was that the Sigils were still on his body; there was no need to specifically seek out the Flame-Chasers to collect them again.

The reason Jun An prepared so much was mainly because Froth was established by Sa almost outside the solar system. It took sunlight a month to travel there; Jun An wasn't even sure how long this journey would take.

Of course, with the Honkai energy stored in Jun An's body, he wouldn't suffer any physical damage even if he didn't eat or drink for a year.

Vita had also tricked Sa into giving her some power, so she wouldn't starve either. If she really got hungry, Jun An could just give her a rectal infusion of some cells at worst.

Prometheus, traveling with them, was even less of a concern. As an AI driven by Honkai energy, she had absolutely no need for sustenance.

The month's worth of food was mainly brought along out of fear of boredom on the road; satisfying one's appetite is a good way to pass the time.

Jun An also brought some board games, which might occasionally be useful for killing time.

After all, it was a month-long journey. Even though the mental fortitude of the three present was strong enough to do nothing for several consecutive months without breaking down from boredom, the monotony of the process would still exist.

While this kind of hardship wasn't unbearable, who would choose to endure it if they had the means to avoid it?

Jun An wrapped the month's worth of snacks in shadows, then asked Vita, "So how do we get to Froth?"

"Through the Sea of Quanta, of course. The space in the Sea of Quanta is unstable; it can help us save most of the time."

Vita looked at the large bag Jun An was carrying and couldn't help asking, "Are you just going to carry that?"

"Of course I won't carry it myself. Wait a moment."

Jun An quickly left Salt Snow Holy City. Half an hour later, he returned, having brought back a large, flying Quantum Shadow. Jun An tossed the bags onto it.

"This is..."

"I went and ate a Quantum Shadow, and now it's become my subordinate."

This was a technique Kevin had used before. Just like the Judgment-class Quantum Shadow Tlaloc that Bronya sent flying when she first used the Herrscher of Reason core—that was one of Kevin's subordinates.

In fact, relying on the power of Brahma, Kevin could even transform into any Honkai Beast he had defeated and use all their abilities. But powerful stats don't need flashy effects, and when it comes to effects, who could compare to the awesome attack power of a single blast from Heaven's Fire?

Thus, Jun An set off with Prometheus and Vita.

The journey through the Sea of Quanta turned out not to be as long as Jun An had imagined. With Vita guiding the way, the miscellaneous small-fry Quantum Shadows were cleared out by Jun An.

Coupled with the need to travel quickly, the journey wasn't as boring as Jun An had anticipated. The preparations to use shadows as a means of transport when tired and play cards on them weren't needed.

Of course, it was more that Vita strongly discouraged resting, constantly speeding towards Froth. It was clear she was quite anxious.

When there was time, Vita would also help explain Sa's abilities to Jun An, such as matter creation, consciousness manipulation, and the like—basically just fighting someone with multiple abilities.

But Jun An stuck to his old saying: in the face of powerful stats, flashy effects and mechanics are insignificant.

The problem was, Jun An currently not only lacked Sa's stats but also had a worrying lack of abilities.

Vita couldn't help asking, "Captain, are you confident?"

Jun An nodded. "Of course not."

"Then why were you acting so certain?"

"I only said I'd help you. When did I ever say I had guaranteed certainty of helping you defeat Sa?"

The current world setting had been strengthened. Although Sa was a king of laying low, she was still a degraded version of the Cocoon of Finality. In terms of rank alone, she could be compared to the Cocoon of Finality.

While her scale would definitely be much smaller than the Cocoon of Finality's, the Cocoon was entrenched in the Imaginary Tree, with a nearly infinite supply of Honkai energy.

In the entire Honkai Impact 3rd worldview, was there any single entity with a larger scale than the Cocoon of Finality? Probably not.

"..." Vita once again felt she had definitely been taken advantage of for free.

However, she never really intended for Jun An to risk his life for her. She just needed him nearby to provide the ability that could sever Sa's connection.

As long as she had that, she could join the battle, take the seven Little Vitas away, or perhaps stop them from resisting Sa, letting them lie low first until she figured out a solution.

There was always a way. For her and the Little Vitas, with their nearly infinite lifespans, answers could eventually be found for everything.

As long as Jun An could help her, the price paid was worth it.

Of course, more than boredom, the torment of endurance was harder to bear, and Prometheus seemed to have noticed this.

Prometheus looked at the two, who hadn't made eye contact at all. "Only three days have passed, yet you've looked at each other two hundred and twenty times without saying a word. Why?"

"No reason, just find her pleasing to the eye," Jun An answered directly.

Vita, however, said bluntly, "Oh dear, wasn't I threatened? Not to seduce Seele's dear brother. Weren't you lectured? For example, not to go looking for pretty older sisters outside."

"Oh, she didn't have the energy to think about that."

Although Jun An couldn't claim to be battle-hardened in that sense, he was experienced enough. Dealing with the naive White Seele was more than easy. By the time Jun An finished packing the supplies, Seele was still passed out on the bed.

"I thought so."

Vita sighed helplessly. She had also experienced Jun An's 'big thing'. The first time, indeed, anyone would feel their brain tremble, mind going blank with nothing left but thoughts of a big dick.

It's not just me, that's great.

See, I'm not lewd at all! This is just a reaction everyone has.

"But you definitely can't satisfy that kind of little girl, right?" Vita looked at Jun An with hidden meaning.

"Weren't you warned?" Jun An remained unmoved, sitting on the giant Quantum Shadow.

"Your help is worth me taking such a risk."

Vita hugged Jun An from behind, teasing, "However, you wouldn't betray Seele's trust, right?"

She was deliberately provoking Jun An.

With Prometheus present, she didn't believe Jun An could be shameless enough to do it in front of someone else!

She, Vita, could be shameless, but Jun An absolutely couldn't!

Moreover, Prometheus must have been instructed by Seele to keep watch. As long as that duty remained, Jun An definitely wouldn't have the courage to proceed.

So she was going to play with fire, also as a small measure of revenge against Jun An.

"Oh my, I didn't expect Earth's savior to be afraid of a little girl. How cute, just like your appearance~"

"Sure enough, even with great power, a small fry like you can only obediently listen to your little sister. Even when far away, you don't dare cross the line. So timid~"

"A sis-con like you, is it already terminal?"

Faced with Vita's deliberate provocation, Jun An wasn't entirely unmoved, but it wasn't like he couldn't handle being teased a little.

Of course, playing with fire like this still warranted punishment from Jun An.

"Prometheus, can you shut down for a while?"

Jun An said flatly, "I feel the upcoming scene isn't suitable for recording."

"Are you going to do it?"

Prometheus stared directly at the two. "Excellent. I wish to understand humans, and data in this area is scarce. May I observe and record?"

Wait? You're an AI, how can you be so flexible?

Vita was first astonished, then expectant. "Then how do you plan to punish me this time, Captain♫~?"

Jun An directly hung Vita up with shadows.

"This trick again?"

Vita's face flushed. "It seems your brain can only come up with this sort of thing."

Vita didn't mind Jun An's methods. After all, they had already done it back in Salt Snow Holy City. The only difference was the audience changing from brainwashed Salt Snow residents to the meticulously observing Prometheus.

However, how could Jun An let her get off?

"First, hang up and beat her. We'll talk again after Prometheus and I finish a game."

With that said, Jun An sat down and started playing a single-player game on his phone. Himeko had bought him the latest model, with software personally designed by Einstein; running a PC single-player game was effortless.

Anyway, with Prometheus around now, there was no worry about the phone suddenly running out of battery.

While Vita was still wondering how long "a game" could possibly take, Jun An unhesitatingly launched Civilization 6.

Froth

"Griseo..."

Fu Hua looked at the collapsed wreckage of the Ark. Among the debris, she not only saw the insignia of the Fire Moth but also found the jade pendant she had given to Griseo.

It was a gift she had once given to Griseo, which meant it was highly likely Griseo had been here!
