Starry pulled out her hand and started pinching her own skin.
She only pinched the part that was covered by her clothes until they turned purple.
Starry smiled, and it looked rather spooky in the darkness.
The morning after, Janice woke up and noticed Starry was gone.
She went searching and found her in Charlotte's bedroom.
A trace of fear flashed through Janice's eyes when she looked at Charlotte.
She hid behind Starry.
Starry explained, "Janice, I woke up for water last night, but I fell. Aunt Charlotte saw me and was worried that I might get scared. So she let me sleep with her."
After her explanation, Starry purposely stressed, "Aunt Charlotte is a good person."
Janice was confused when she heard Starry's words and looked at Charlotte's gentle smile.
When they were in the basement, she witnessed Charlotte beating Clara.
Regardless of how Clara cried and pleaded, she still got beaten vigorously.
But the woman in front of her eyes was kind and gentle.
