As Mr.Joke and Aizawa talked about the various facets of the exam I watched as Izuku led the rest of class 1-A to defend themselves against everyone else. As I watched them unleash their new moves I thought about how far they had come, when they had started the were barely able to keep up with Katsumi and Shoto who had a bit of training much less him, but now he could see the tangible results of all their hard work, not just a few but everyone in the class had made lots of progress 'while you stagnate,what are you going to do when things don't go as planned and you can't save anyone? will you cry out for mother . . . how far you have fallen ' but I have made progress, I've been able to shorten the time it takes for me to transform from human to dragon and have more forms as well 'Excuses excuses, you would have already achieved those things if you had truly pushed forwards and progressed, you would have surpassed every pathetic lifeform on this wretched planet, and we could be fighting once again, avenging our fallen rather than playing pretend'
Watching them try their hardest to achieve something that was basically handed to me on a silver platter I realize that he's right, I could have been much stronger by now. Clenching my teeth I glare at the arena then relax sighing, 'If i'm going to grow stronger I might as well focus of the magic she gave me, put it to good use.' and moving a few seats away from Joke who's back to flirting and teasing Aizawa I slowly empty my mind as I turn off all my senses and focus inward, looking for my soul, the source of all my troubles and power.
As Carter enters meditation Aizawa and Joke watch as class 1-A use their super moves to fend off attacks, Mina uses her acid veil to melt several balls thrown at her as Fumikage black abyss to get more physical fighting alongside Izuku as they face off with students from Ketsubutsu. "Your kids are already using super moves huh." She says as Aizawa nods "A few of them had a rocky start but they pushed through, what you see before you is from their hard work." he says as they focus on the battle below them.
Seeing the fight in front of him Inasa can't help but feel hyped up as he joins in as his classmates go to a different area since they know how he is. "Seeing you all trying your best I couldn't help but want to join!" He yells with joy as he uses his quirk Whirlwind to take the foam balls from the surrounding people as he takes to the air as another student uses his quirk causing an earthquake forcing everyone to dodge wildly as Inasa unleashes the balls.
Seeing the barrage flying towards them everyone focuses their attention on dodging Inasa's attack but with the amount of projectiles and the wind blasting them in the face it proves very difficult. "Participant Inasa Yoarashi has passed, he has also eliminated 120 students. Participants that have been eliminated please make your way to the exit." with that Inasa leaves while grinning like crazy as Izuku comes out from his cover and notices that all of class 1-A has been separated by the earthquake from before.
Before he can try and regroup through a ball hits one of his targets and he rolls dodging another two that barely miss him. "Not bad fam, your pretty good." a voice says as he looks up and sees a girl from Ketsubutsu, they start a game of cat and mouse trying to tag each other out but have to stop for a second as more students try and third-party them. Izuku losses sight of the girl as he focuses on the new arrivals but rushes to save Ochako when she appears as they focus on her.
As Ochako falls while dodging he leaps and catches her while thinking about all he's had to do to get here, trying to capitalize on his apparent weakness the students keep going for him but he beats them back with his new shoot style using the air blasts from his legs to force them back while mentally thanking Mei for the upgraded soles that let him do that.
Losing sight of them behind a chunk of rubble the Ketsubutsu students leave as Ochako tries to tag Izuku's last target but he slaps the ball out of her hand, "The real Ochako would have saved herself with her quirk." he says as she grins "Caught me~" right as Sero and the real Ochako appear and another fight starts with Camie proving to be to good for them and making her escape. Izuku is not the only one fighting hard though as Shoto is fighting several students with one that looks just like a ninja with the rest of class 1-A locked in their own battles. Oblivious to all of this Carter is slowly getting closer to his goal as he delves into his soul.
'So this is my soul huh? Pretty empty for being the source of all my powers." I think as I walk in the darkness, it's pretty peaceful but as I walk I get the distinct feeling that I'm being watched. The feeling proves right as a large dragon steps out of the darkness, it looks exactly like my nightwing for, just MUCH larger, easily twice as big. "A scavenger? What a strange place, total darkness that even I can't see through and what do I find, a scavenger." the dragon says with a deep voice. "Who are you." I demand as I bring my claws out, whatever this dragon is doing in my soul can't be good so I'm already ready to fight but what it says surprises me as it was the last thing I expected, "Oh, so you can speak dragon? Well strange little scavenger it's nice to meet you, my name is Darkstalker."
