Shin ran toward the drake mother and flourished the two daggers. Soon later the raging flames around her body faded as her eyes spotted him. She couldn't maintain that flame for long, she isn't a dragon or a salamander after all.
She roared and jumped forward, her whole body flew to the sky, her wings expanded, and she glided toward him with an open maw. Shin slid beneath her jaw and swung the two daggers, slashing right at her soft abdomen before rolling to the side and avoiding the crushing weight of her massive body.
While a dragon's whole body is covered in hard scales, a drake usually has a soft belly and joints, making damaging them much, much easier.
For the first time in decades, the drake's mother could feel a wound on her body. While she hesitated to charge blindly at him again, Shin didn't leave her a chance but to fight without sight. Unlike her, he didn't stop, not even for a second. Before she knew it, his daggers were already a foot deep into her eyes.
