Heaven Dou City

After leaving Spirit City, Wang Li and Dugu Yan traveled around for a while before returning here.

Upon entering the city, they stopped for a meal and overheard an interesting piece of gossip—just a few days ago, a fierce battle had taken place.

The fight had broken out at the former Shrek Academy, and the level of combat was at least at the Spirit Saint realm. The roars, shouts, and the aftermath of the battle had been anything but small.

However, the exact cause of the conflict remained unknown to outsiders, turning it into a popular topic of discussion among the city's residents.

Wang Li listened with amusement, a smirk playing at his lips. He chuckled and said,

"Interesting. Shrek Academy… Could this be an internal dispute?"

Dugu Yan frowned slightly and added,

"Shrek Academy… That's where Teacher Qin Ming came from. But that Tang San—he actually called his father over to capture you just because of an unclaimed soul beast."

"If it weren't for your strength, he would have succeeded that day. Hmph! That academy must not be a good place after all."

Wang Li nodded in agreement, appreciating Dugu Yan's support.

"Indeed, it's nothing but a breeding ground for misguided fools. If it shuts down, that would be for the best."

At that moment, a commotion erupted in the streets.

"Come quick, everyone! Another fight has broken out at Shrek Academy!"

As soon as those words rang out, countless curious onlookers rushed toward the academy.

The last battle had taken place at night, leaving little opportunity for spectators. But this time, it was broad daylight, and the crowd was eager to witness the spectacle.

After all, people were willing to pay to watch battles at the Great Spirit Arena, even at the Spirit Grandmaster and Spirit Elder levels. A Spirit Saint-level fight? That was an event no one wanted to miss.

Wang Li was somewhat intrigued but not overly eager. He and Dugu Yan took their time finishing their meal before casually making their way toward the scene.

 At Shrek Academy

Moments ago, Tang San had stealthily returned. His combat ability was lacking—his Blue Silver Grass was too weak, and his Clear Sky Hammer consumed too much energy. So he opted for an ambush.

His first target? Flender, whom he considered the weakest.

His attack was partially successful—Flender was poisoned by his Man-Faced Demon Spider's venom. However, he had also failed. Flender's Cat-Eagle Martial Soul was highly alert, allowing him to issue a timely warning.

A sharp, urgent cry pierced the air—

"Chirp!"

Within the academy, Liu Erlong, Zhao Wuji… as well as Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun… all rushed to the scene.

In the open courtyard, Flender's face had turned an alarming shade of blue and purple. His massive wings flapped as he attempted to escape, but his movements were unsteady, as if he were intoxicated.

Liu Erlong and Zhao Wuji arrived just in time. Flender's eyes brightened for a brief moment before his body gave out. He staggered and collapsed, weakly warning,

"Be… careful… Tang San… he's back. A despicable sneak attack… Watch out for the Eight Spider Lances… Highly toxic… Don't get too close…"

Liu Erlong immediately caught Flender, her face filled with urgency. She shouted,

"Flender! Flender! Shao Xin, hurry and heal him!"

Shao Xin, equally panicked, rushed forward while rapidly producing sugar beans, then stuffed them into Flender's mouth.

After consuming the sugar beans, Flender's complexion improved slightly, but the underlying problem remained.

Shao Xin's face darkened.

"My sugar beans can neutralize most poisons, but this… The Man-Faced Demon Spider's venom is nearly incurable, except by Tang San himself."

Liu Erlong's face paled even further. Even someone as fiery as her was beginning to feel helpless. Overwhelmed with rage, she roared,

"Tang San! Where are you?! If you're a man, come out and fight me face-to-face! Let's settle this properly—no ambushes, no poison, just an honest battle! Are you too much of a coward?"

"Dean! Teacher!"

Ma Hongjun had just arrived, and upon seeing the scene, he fell to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably. He clung to Flender, desperately shaking him.

"Wake up! Please wake up!"

Of all people, Ma Hongjun was the most devastated.

Flender had loved Liu Erlong all his life and never married, leaving him without any children of his own. In his heart, he had treated Ma Hongjun as his successor. To Ma Hongjun, Flender wasn't just a teacher—he was like a father.

Dai Mubai stood in stunned disbelief.

For the past few days, he had been reeling from shock.

Tang San—his former comrade—had murdered his own teacher. And now, after fleeing the academy for several days, he had returned to assassinate Flender.

Dai Mubai patted Ma Hongjun on the shoulder, then looked around and shouted,

"Tang San! If you still consider us brothers, come out and say something! Why are you doing this? You've already murdered our teacher—are we next?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang San truly appeared. Using the jumping power of his Eight Spider Lances, he leaped from a nearby building, his form resembling that of a giant spider. Landing on the ground, he faced the group and spoke coldly,

"Mubai, Fatty… Yu Xiaogang deserved to die. Flender and Liu Erlong were just as guilty as him. What kind of nonsense did he even teach? Listening to his lies has ruined my Blue Silver Grass spirit—it's neither plant nor beast, its attributes have weakened, and if I use my Spirit Avatar, I even get poisoned myself! And that man dared to call himself a 'Grandmaster'? I must have been insane to acknowledge him as my teacher.

"The only ones I want dead are Yu Xiaogang, Flender, and Liu Erlong. As long as no one else stands in my way, I won't trouble you. But if you choose to oppose me… then you're all asking for death."

Ma Hongjun stood up, his eyes red with fury. Summoning his spirit, four spirit rings—two yellow, two purple—appeared around him. He roared,

"Tang San! You still have the audacity to call me Fatty?! You poisoned my teacher! From this moment on, we are no longer friends—we are mortal enemies! If you don't kill me, then I will kill you!"

Tang San glanced at Ma Hongjun, his eyes filled with contempt. He sneered,

"Overestimating yourself. Ma Hongjun, since you want to die, I'll grant your wish. I'll add your name to my kill list. Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing—what about you? Will you stand against me too?"

Dai Mubai hesitated. He wasn't ready to die. Years of indulging in alcohol and pleasure had dulled his edge, draining his courage and resolve.

But Zhu Zhuqing was different. Though she had never fully approved of Flender's obsession with money, she knew how to repay kindness. After all, he had sheltered her for so long—her choice was clear.

"Tang San, I am not like you. I won't harm my teachers. If we are no longer walking the same path, then that makes us enemies."

Tang San's gaze grew colder as he looked at them. At this moment, he felt utterly alone. No one understood him. He had suffered the most, yet they treated him as if he were the villain.

Fine. If that's how they wanted it, then he would kill them all. Only through bloodshed could he find peace.

"Good. Good! Since you all wish to die, then I shall grant your wish!"

At that moment, Liu Erlong stood up, her expression icy and her bloodshot eyes burning with rage. She turned to the others and ordered,

"Step back. Tang San is too strong for you. Zhao Wuji, we'll take him together."

Then, she glared at Tang San, her voice filled with fury,

"You killed your own teacher over this? And now you want to murder your former comrades? Your own battle brothers? You've completely lost your mind!"

Zhao Wuji rubbed his eyes, remembering the fear he once felt under the shadow of Tang San and Tang Hao. But Tang Hao was dead. Only Tang San remained—and Tang San had gone insane. There was no reason to hold back anymore.

"Agreed. Honestly, I always knew Tang San wasn't a good person. First, he murders his teacher. Then, he ambushes and poisons the headmaster. Now, he wants to slaughter his classmates? He's nothing but a deranged killer. If we don't end him today, he'll become a disaster in the future!"

With that, Liu Erlong and Zhao Wuji activated their Spirit Avatars, flanking Tang San from both sides. They remembered Flender's warning—beware of the Eight Spider Lances.

Meanwhile, Ma Hongjun and Zhu Zhuqing turned their eyes toward Dai Mubai, their gazes filled with scorn. Tang San had openly threatened them, yet Dai Mubai didn't even dare to speak a word in defiance.

At first, Dai Mubai hung his head in shame. But then, he lifted it with indifference. So what? He had only a few years left to live anyway. Why should he care?

As long as he never returned to Shrek Academy, this problem wouldn't concern him. With his wealth and connections in Heaven Dou City, there wasn't a hotel or pleasure house without a private room reserved in his name. His stagnation in strength over the past few years wasn't without reason.

At this moment, Tang San smirked darkly at Liu Erlong and Zhao Wuji. He summoned his Blue Silver Grass—but he didn't use his Clear Sky Hammer.

He had no intention of fighting to the death. He would resist briefly and then find an opportunity to escape.

In truth, he hadn't planned to show himself at all. The only reason he revealed himself was because of Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Zhu Zhuqing.

Originally, he had intended to assassinate his targets one by one, using stealth and poison, before heading to the City of Slaughter.

After all, as a disciple of the Tang Sect, his expertise lay in forging hidden weapons, assassination, ambushes, and poison. In a direct confrontation, he could only rely on his Clear Sky Hammer's Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique to battle Spirit Saints—but the energy cost was far too high.

Using the Blue Silver Grass' minimal soul power consumption, Tang San quickly unleashed his spirit skills. He cycled through the first six skills in rapid succession, trying to escape while Liu Erlong and Zhao Wuji were occupied with destroying the Blue Silver Grass. With the Eight Spider Lances, he leaped into the air, planning to flee.

But at that moment, the Blue Silver Domain spread out. Tang San's body was struck as if by a lightning bolt, and he plummeted from the sky to the ground below.

The impact was thunderous, and he struggled to rise, his gaze turning skyward. Wang Li descended slowly from above, holding Dugu Yan in his arms.

Tang San gritted his teeth, his eyes wide with disbelief. He couldn't understand what was happening. His soul power was being severely suppressed, as if facing an overwhelming force—like a mouse encountering a cat, or a subject bowing before a king. Despite the pressure, he forced out two words through clenched teeth:

"Wang Li!"

Wang Li looked down at Tang San, sizing him up before breaking into a smile.

"Tang San, we meet again. I didn't expect you to have become so corrupt. The Blue Silver Grass in your hands has turned into something like an evil tentacle, with the appearance of a snake, spider-like barbs, and disgusting slime—along with an evil aura that makes me sick."

"You've fallen. You killed your own teacher and even plan to harm your former classmates. I can't let you live any longer."

"When I was crowned in front of the Douluo Hall, I swore to maintain fairness, justice, and peace on the continent. A soul master like you, who has fallen so far, must be eradicated for the sake of all."

Hearing this, Tang San's eyes turned bloodshot as he nearly screamed in rage.

"Wang Li, spare me the speeches! You think I'm the only one who's suffered? When I was at Notting Academy, you became a Soul Master of Rank 40 and could go to a mid-level academy, while I was stuck at a low-level academy, wasting time and energy. Why? Because of that trash teacher, Yu Xiaogang! Why is it that you— with your weak talent— are already at Rank 40, while I'm still stuck at Rank 29? You feasted on soul beast meat, had the best cultivation environment, and guidance from Titled Douluo. What did I have?"

"Yu Xiaogang, that trash of a soul master, claimed to be a 'Grandmaster.' He ruined my Blue Silver Grass, turning it into this monstrosity. He destroyed me! He utterly destroyed me. Why shouldn't I kill him? I only regret not killing him sooner."

"And all of them—his accomplices—deserve to die too. They're all part of his downfall. And you— who are you to judge me from your high horse? I don't accept it, and I'll never bow! I'll kill you!"

With those words, Tang San retracted his Blue Silver Grass and summoned the Clear Sky Hammer, releasing his Killing God Domain.

He thought this would give him an edge, but the impulse to kneel never subsided. After all, Tang San wasn't entirely human—he was a human-beast hybrid, possessing the bloodline of the Blue Silver Emperor.

Against Wang Li, the new Blue Silver Emperor, even his mother, A Yin, would have to kneel and call him "Your Majesty." Tang San was only able to resist because of his human blood.

Wang Li smiled and continued,

"But I remember, Wang Sheng warned you about Yu Xiaogang. He didn't teach, didn't lead classes—he was just eating free meals at the academy. He was trying to help you, but you threatened him. Now, you've realized the mistake? You feel wronged, but haven't truly reflected on yourself. You've fallen beyond saving."

Tang San froze for a moment, then lifted the Clear Sky Hammer, roaring,

"It's not me! It's all of you! It's your fault! Third soul skill—Clear Sky Shatter!"

His third soul ring flared as black energy began to gather on the Clear Sky Hammer, forming a sharp black axe blade that tore through the air.

Using his Eight Spider Lances to propel himself, Tang San roared as he swung the hammer toward Wang Li, reckless and determined to give everything in his attack.

Wang Li merely waved his hand, and in the Blue Silver Domain, all the Blue Silver Grass around them surged.

It shot up into the air, wrapping around Tang San, binding him tightly. The immense force cracked his bones, one after another, breaking them and piercing his internal organs. The vines squeezed and twisted his body, tearing his flesh, grinding it into pieces.

Wang Li didn't even bother summoning his spirit. He simply manipulated the Blue Silver Grass, using the domain to subdue Tang San.

"I shouldn't have let you live this long… I should have eradicated you earlier…"

Tang San's voice was filled with defiance as his body was consumed by the vines, blood seeping out through the cracks in his body. His bones shattered, his flesh was ground into paste, and nothing was left of him.

Wang Li calmly watched, indifferent. There was no need to play games anymore. Tang San's fate was sealed.
