When Kai drove away, the city was still asleep. The sky outside was a deep blue, not yet morning, not fully night. The streets were empty, quiet, like they were holding their breath. But inside Kai's mind, everything was alive. The engine of his super bike purred low. The soft ticking of the dashboard clock filled the silence.
