Chapter 29 - Chapter 28: Twinkling Stars

The next morning, Bo Rong, who had slept well, woke up to a sky full of morning glows, and beneath those glows, his junior female disciple was picking up seashells.

The tide had just receded, and there were plenty of edible things on the beach. Ye Qiu had collected a lot of seashells and even found three large crabs that hadn't managed to return to the sea in time.

"Good morning, little junior sister!" Having rested enough, Bo Rong regained his usual refined and handsome demeanor, and facing the sunlight, Ye Qiu was momentarily dazzled. After so many lifetimes, a good-looking man like Bo Rong was still rare, no wonder his fans were crazy about him.

"Brother, good morning to you too." Ye Qiu replied with a faint smile, before turning her head to continue checking the shallows for any stranded fish.

"Is there anything in here?" Bo Rong leaned in, flipping over rocks as gently as Ye Qiu, and he would exclaim loudly whenever he turned up a small crab or a fish.

Ye Qiu sighed. It seemed even a God couldn't be perfect – she wondered if the fans would feel sad and upset seeing their God like this, unaccomplished.

Gradually, after Bo Rong got up, everyone else slowly awoke. After a simple breakfast, they decided to send out Ye Qiu, Lin Cheng, and the keenly self-nominated Bo Rong to hunt and fish, while Yi An, Xiao Hua, and Li Yan stayed back to rebuild their shelter at the campsite.

They still needed to stay here for four days and three nights, and in case it rained, their open-air tents wouldn't be of much use.

It had to be admitted, although Bo Rong was a bit erratic, his luck was really good.

Not long after setting out, he found plastic sheets and bottles and other trash that had washed up from the sea, which would be very useful, either for sheltering from the rain or for distilling water.

Today, Ye Qiu and Lin Cheng didn't feel like eating seashells again, deciding to look in the forest for other food sources.

Lin Cheng had made a simple bow and arrow, hoping to find wild rabbits, pheasants, or seabirds in the forest to supplement their meal.

Although Ye Qiu felt that wild rabbits and pheasants were unlikely to be found, there was still hope for seabirds. Moreover, the bird eggs Brother Bo had brought back yesterday – if they could find more of those, it would be the best. They were nutritious and filling, making for a great delicacy for them.

The trio walked into the woods, careful and cautious. After all, it was a tropical island; there could inevitably be some poisonous insects and snakes. If bitten by accident, it would be troublesome.

Although the production crew had prepared a doctor to accompany them, Ye Qiu understood that there were too many unknown creatures in this world and being far from the city, who knew what accidents might happen.

Online, the viewers weren't too optimistic about the trio's hunting trip. Firstly, there was the question of whether there would be any game to hunt. Secondly, even with a makeshift bow and arrow, hitting a target would be exceedingly difficult. And then there was Bo Ying, who was slowing them down... They didn't even feel like expressing their opinions anymore; those who had watched Bo Ying's live broadcast yesterday knew that him finding bird eggs was purely fluke. Aside from being physically fit, he was an idiot in all other respects.

On the other hand, Xiao Hua and Li Yan had gathered more banana leaves and lianas, and using machetes, they had cut down several small trees wrist-thick. They had decided to construct a raised shelter since even without rain, sleeping on the ground wasn't good for their health.

However, what they had imagined was beautiful but turned out to be somewhat difficult in reality.

For example, to support the weight of six people, those wooden pillars had to be firmly secured in the ground. It was not until they had managed to nail a few main pillars into the soil that they realized they hadn't figured out what to use for a mattress.

Even with tree branches covered with banana leaves, sleeping on it was still uncomfortable. Li Yan and Xiao Hua could only go back into the forest to look for more lianas and wild grasses. They worked hard all morning and were out of breath before they even had an initial form, and they still had no solution for the roof.

After nearly two hours of walking, they found neither wild chickens nor rabbits, and not even eggs. It was the lucky Bo Ying who discovered a bush of wild strawberries, which allowed Ye Qiu and the others not to return empty-handed.

Unwilling to give up, Lin Cheng wanted to search deeper in the forest. Fortunately, he was persistent, and they found a resting place for seabirds. At that moment, there were many seabirds circling overhead and some perching on treetops.

Telling Bo Rong to wait where he was, Ye Qiu and Lin Cheng approached stealthily with their bows and arrows.

Lin Cheng shot first, perhaps lacking strength. He hit a wing but did not penetrate, allowing the bird to fly away and startling many other seabirds.

Ye Qiu seized the opportunity, an arrow through the throat!

Following Ye Qiu, her two cameramen had already begun to suspect that this female artist was not ordinary, and so they aimed their cameras at the arrow as soon as it was shot, capturing the moment it went through the throat.

This all happened in an instant, and the online audience in the live stream space erupted with exclamations of shock.

Just yesterday they had witnessed her impressive fishing skills, but who would have thought she was also proficient in archery? This was too amazing!

Unsurprisingly, a series of actions from Ye Qiu won her fans, with her Weibo followers increasing by a million within half an hour, and after one hour, Ye Qiu's archery had become the top trending topic on Weibo.

"Impressive!" Lin Cheng gave a thumbs up in admiration.

Standing a bit further away, Bo Rong opened his mouth in surprise, this little junior sister of his was really different from what he had imagined!

After two consecutive arrows, the flock of birds was startled, hovering in the sky. Since the target was too far away and obstructed by tree branches, Ye Qiu did not shoot again, waiting for another chance with Lin Cheng.

Ten minutes later, the flock slowly returned to the treetops. Having witnessed Ye Qiu's abilities, Lin Cheng decided to let her take the first shot.

Ye Qiu gestured with one hand, signaling for both of them to shoot at once, increasing their chances of success.

Ye Qiu once again lived up to the expectations of both Bo Ying and the netizens, another arrow through the throat and the filming cameraman was already dumbfounded. Is this still a female artist? Her ability was enough to compete!

This time, Lin Cheng also held his breath and shot through another seagull's wing with one arrow.

Weibo erupted once more, and in just half a day, Ye Qiu's follower count on Weibo increased by over three million.

Even more astonishingly, the head coach of the national archery team @mentioned Ye Qiu and posted five words: The country needs you!

In the eyes of netizens, anything related to the country was deemed prestigious, and with the head coach having such high hopes for Ye Qiu, the fans felt tremendously honored.

Having secured three seagulls, and considering their size, as well as for sustainable development, the team did not catch any more. After collecting seven or eight bird's nests, ensuring four or five eggs were left in each, the three returned to the campsite with their prey.

Seeing Bo Rong come back with a tarp for the roof's rain protection, Xiao Hua's eyes suddenly lit up.

Li Yan's eyes were even sharper, noticing the seagulls in Ye Qiu's hands at first glance.

Hurrying over, she took the hefty seagull, exclaiming excitedly: "You guys are amazing, we can have an extra meal today!"

Yi An also did not hesitate to praise, nodding affirmatively towards the three, and with a hearty laugh, Xiao Xiao said: "Eating off of you guys again!"

"Brother Yi is jesting, we're also staying under your roof for free!" Ye Qiu responded with a laugh.

"All things considered, I'm still the least useful," Bo Rong laughed self-mockingly.

Lin Cheng quickly retorted: "Brother Bo, you're too modest. If it weren't for your good luck, we wouldn't have found the tarp and wild strawberries!"

Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter again. After complimenting each other and considering they had little to eat in the morning and had gone through a lot of physical labor, they were all hungry and started preparing lunch.
