Zhong Niangyao had just appeared, not managing to say a word before being embraced directly into a warm and familiar hold.
"Yaoyao, Yaoyao," the low voice kept coming from above her head, tinged with both suppression and relief.
Held quietly in Lu Yichen's arms, a complex look flickered across Zhong Niangyao's eyes. However, it quickly became firm and clear. She reached out, pushing gently, but found herself held even tighter.
"Yichen, you're holding me too tightly," Zhong Niangyao's muffled voice rose, "Let me go first!"
It took a good while longer before Lu Yichen was willing to release the person in his arms. However, as soon as he did, he started to check her over, worried that Zhong Niangyao might have been injured in any way.
"I'm fine," Zhong Niangyao caught Lu Yichen's hand and shook her head, "I just went to a place, met an old friend, and had a chat, that's all."
